The other way around lmao. The deep roar of the 1 and 2jz is amazing and it’s faster than rbs but nothing will beat that superior fucking rb sound and it’s not even close lol rb20 and 26 matter of fact they all sound beautiful that perfect complex noise idk jz’s just can’t mess with rbs when it comes to sound

Impossible to judge, but theres nothing like an SR20 growl (I feel the same about the 3S-GTE)! I like the unique sound of a 1JZ, sounds like a 4cyl with 2 extra cylinders.. The RB sounds like a V8 with 2 missing cylinders.. if that makes sense.

Way late but what he was pointing out is like the sound difference between the pushrod & crossplane type exhaust pulses. Rb's sound like a mix of a BMW straight 6 & a v8 diesel with a lot of setups. Whereas 1jz's have a more smooth burble tone similar to a 2 stroke 3 cylinder or 4 rotor wankel.

Rb has different valve flow than jz , I think thats why it sounds rumbly whereas 1jz sound throttier

Rb26, on gate, 8000+rpm pisses on everything 6cyl, including 2jz when it comes to sound. Rb's always sound better then jz's, PERIOD.

Why? Use a better car than a shitty impreza to jz swap...do like a old single cab 2wd toyota pickup with the jz in it. Subarus are just turds plus i feel like youd have a hell of a time stuffing a 2jz in there and keeping the weight split good and not nose heavy as fuck
