Great job on this video comparison! The methodology you used and the presentation approach worked great. well done! I appreciate that about your channel content! As far as the results of this comparison, listening to it several times with wired ear buds and wired in-ears, I really can’t hear a discernible difference and doubt there would be any noticeable difference when playing live. This is great info!! Thank you!

So you did a fantastic job of comparing these devices. It’s extremely difficult to tell any difference at all! I will humbly admit that your experiment was more methodical than my reliance on sound memory, as I did not own my Stomp and PodGo at the same time. I agree that using them in a live situation would be near impossible to discern which is which, especially mixed with other instruments. Great job!

Last year I did a comparison myself with Pod Go and HX Stomp and I got the same results as you did in this video, so I bought the Pod Go and I'm pretty happy with it regardless a bunch of comments in the Facebook forum about impedance issues.

I really couldn't tell any sound difference. I have to admit that my ear may not be at the level of more experienced ears. I have been playing the Pod Go for about a year now at church and I still love it. If I ever have the money to spend, I can see me getting the Helix floor but I don't feel pressured to do that because of the Go. I have been able to do everything that I paid for when I bought it. I can't complain. Thanks for the shoot-out. Very informative. Keep up the great work.

I have the pod go but came from a $3000+ rig & before that, pod hd500x. I don’t think the added dsp you get is worth $1000 extra. I use the effects loop to add extra effects like delays.

Except from the missing reverb on the stomp i thought they all sounded exactly the same on my trusted AKG Studio headphones. Great work !

Before you added the DDL, there was something different about the XL, like an added little ambience or something... Is it possible that the cab was set different or something? In point of fact, they all will sound exactly the same in the house and in the mix.

I tried to copy and have all be exactly the same but the room reverb at the end was off on the HX Stomp.... agreed

To me the Helix sounded smoother than the rest perhaps is because of the double DSP. Perhaps it has more Headroom and the high frequency is are not butting up against the ceiling.

It seems like you recorded the HX Stomp with one of the reverb blocks turned off by mistake. It's the only noticeable difference in my opinion.

Agreed.. I noticed that as soon as the HX Stomp XL started. Not a big deal at all, and I didn’t notice a different either!

pod go has an aissue with impedence that causes it to lack high end and brightness- supposedly the offending capacitor has been removed in newer models- the pd go sounds good but if you can swing the stiomp xl it does sound better

I think that the way you did it is probably the most even playing field, but, that being said a looper is going to lack dynamics a bit, you won't get that extra attack like you would with your guitar plugged straight in. So things that you might be missing are the way the drives and pr amp models respond to that pick attack. On the other side of the coin, it's impossible to play the same riff over and over and have the same dynamics every time so with that..... I really don't think there is a way to definitively say one sounds better than the other all things being equal. It has to be your own ear and which unit you can afford combined with what you need it to do. All in all though it was a great vid man.
