@withmygoodeyeclosed7 жыл бұрын
@Marin Isn't he singing an F5 around 3:08? Anyway, this performance was great, but the Showbox version from 2010 is the best post-reunion version in my opinion. Check out some Beyond The Wheel versions from 2017.. he was still very much on point. RIP Chris.

Am I the only one who thinks that his voice sounds way better than in Audioslave? In Audioslave his voice sounds quite strained that I was afraid he would not pull off the Soundgarden reunion, but he just did it being someone who is a 50 year old, pulling off those D5s and F5s like no tomorrow. #holysmokes
@Timliu928 жыл бұрын
+Chance Oviedo Preferences, I guess. Do not get me wrong, I love his work with Audioslave. It is just that his voice here seems to find its form back just like in the early SG days, at least in my humble opinion.
@frostasaurus21908 жыл бұрын
So he hit it hard the first album and at the same time had problems with drugs, alcohol, and smoking. Basically each Audioslave album is coming off something and then afterwards he had time to heal up and work at getting it back.
@scottsheerin91367 жыл бұрын
Timliu92 I think he sang that way on purpose in Audioslave. He still had the range. You could hear it in Moth or Show me how to live but I think he liked the raspiness that his voice got.
@loveharrydaily6 жыл бұрын
Timliu92 sometimes he just wouldn't even attempt to do those high notes live...even in the 90s!
@kman05296 жыл бұрын
He definitely struggled live during the Audioslave years. Not sure what he did, but around 2009/2010 he started killing it. May have had lessons on how to properly use/maintain his voice without blowing it out on tour.

I honestly don't think Myles Kennedy can touch Chris Cornell, i've virtually found little to no disagreement on that topic. Myles is a hell of a singer with a very high register but its very technical and he never Holds notes, CC can have his off nights but even than he could probably curb a 5 word chorus into a minute of music without taking a breath. No contest, that said though CC is pretty unorthodox and haters will hate, he's arguably the most versatile voice in rock. Put them next to eachother top game and I bet you couldn't even hear Myles singing.

Shave Your Face no, sorry to say Myles can sing and sustain higher than Cornell. Their sounds are different due to their voice types, Chris being a baritone with a four octave range, and Myles being a tenor with a four octave range. Chris's sound is fatter and it weighed on his cords during his final performance a little. Myles is still doing amazing. nonetheless, Myles can never beat Cornells lower register, the Blues sound is strong. Rest in Peace Cornell, you fucking legend sir \m/
