I was there! Somewhere to the left of Chris,not too far back. I went to Download to see Black Sabbath, any support bands on what I liked was a bonus. But I love Soundgarden, never thought I'd see 'em but I did and they were great. Kim's a fantastic guitarist in my opinion. There was also Megadeth playing there as well, so I got my money's worth that day.Ace band. Such a shame what happened with Chris. I loved the grunge music when I was in my 20's, but so many of the musicians involved have gone now. RIP Kurt, Layne, Scott and Chris.

Best pipes in the business...his Range was off the charts but he rarely showcased what he could actually do. He sang the way he wanted to because he could. I understand Mental illness and know what he was feeling. Depression sucks but to have a talent like his that cannot be denied and must be shared, creates a Serious Paradox that Few are able to Navigate. I just don't see it. Probably cause I don't hear a lot of hendrix. I know.. sounds lame and stupid. Can you recommend me some of your favourite hendrix records?
@petitor_veritatis19365 жыл бұрын
Wilander Mascrenhas This particular song y Chris Cornell sounds like a hybrid of a few of Hendrix's songs such as Voodoo Child, Along the Watchtower and Foxy Lady. Spoonman doesn't seem to be plagiarized, but definitely sounds to be Hendrix inspired. But really, what guitar piece didn't Jimi Hendrix influence when one considers his prolific and astonishing contributions.
@WilanderMascrenhas5 жыл бұрын
@@petitor_veritatis1936 Okay now I'm hearing it just a bit. Sort of connecting the dots a bit. I'll say purple haze, foxy lady and voodoo child. The rhythm structure a tad bit similar. But rather than that...nah. Yah hendrix has definitely influenced everyone. Once Chris Cornell was asked in an interview did Jimi Hendrix being from your town, did he influence your music by any chance. Chris straight up said no. BTW you should hear Chris Cornell's cover of the Jimi Hendrix song Hey Baby. Really awesome cover
