We threw this game away came back from 10 pts down only to fail managing a 4pts lead in the last 4-5 min. Both drop goals Pollard failed to find touch and kicked the ball straight down the Irish guys throat and he drop goaled us twice

Frawley has now shown the Leinster coaches why he should be in the starting 15, preferably in the #10 jersey, when the upcoming URC season starts.

I don’t know why they persist with Ross Byrne ahead of him at OH. Yeah he can play FB and centre but an OH is what he is and the best one Leinster have maybe until Prendergast matures a little more though that could be this next season. Ross is a good player but a bit limited in the very top games.

He had some bad kicks but had the bravery to keep going . That's confidence and brave as .

He is full of confidence and that's what this team needs, I do like Crowley but he's not confident enough for number 10 just yet.

Apart from kick, and he did that well tonight in fairness to him, what does Pollard offer the team? Ball kicked dead from kick off, wide pass at shin height to Kolbe who was clearly in the gap, dinky little chip straight into the arms of the full back to mark the ball.... We will not win if we persist with our 5 year old 2019 RWC game plan of our forwards winning penalties and Pollard kicking them. Not once did we look like scoring because our real playmaker went off with a HIA in the first couple of minutes.

We can say in every game there were dodgy calls mate...the kolbe try was so marginal and there wasnt a good angle...and then ireland scored 2 tries while boks were 14....yesterday ireland were lucky to not play with 14 for the rest of the game as that croc roll was nasty and i saw a red being given for that the other day...also the last lineout where dickson gave the ball to ireland when the irish 2 definitly dummied first and then because of that the boks jumps early and that lineout led to ireland getting the first drop...if kwagga kicked the ball instead of picking it up it wouldve been a try and if kolbe caight the vall also...ireland deserved the win on the night thanks to their good 1st half and boks just not showing up in 1st half...yes the series was a draw and i have seen so really nasty comments online from irish and boks...ireland win this time and i wish both teams had their full squads because yes ireland have 5 guys missing but boks also had really key players missing like wiese, willemse, lood, kitshoff, willie(to loose your best 15 who is key to your attack is massive in the 1st minute) and mostert...moerat wasnt even brought on because i dont think rassie trusted him due to his dicipline​@@pilgrim3387

Irish players have come in clutch with drop goals over the years … all at the death .. o Gara, sexton , Crowley .. 2 of them are in rugby’s highest scorers of all time .

I missed the entire first half (stuck in traffic on the New Jersey shore) and I tuned in as the broadcaster was showing some 1st half highlights. I thought I had tuned into a MMF free for all! Jeez - players on both sides were really bloodied.

We know SA really know their rugby. Sometimes when they ship a loss the saffa online brigade start on about the ref and the TMO etc. but they’ve been pretty gracious today. I think maybe because it was such an epic two games. As everyone said it’s a pity there wasn’t a third but from an Ireland point of view I think the players will be just glad of a rest at this point.

They simply refused to be beaten by us. They were sharper by a far margin!

@@nomsa06 they were certainly not sharper in every facet of the game. I thought the Irish discipline in the second half for example, was shocking. The penalty count stats back this up. This is just one example, but the stats show that the two teams were nearly identical with both teams having strengths in various departments, hence the close score. The moment of brilliance by the fly half at the end of the game was what separated the two teams on the scoreboard. You win some you lose some, it’s the nature of sport. No team wants to lose and the Boks can hold their heads up high for sure, but good on Ireland for fighting right up until the very end. A fitting end to a great series of rugby by number 1 and 2 in the world.

@@pauloputigna7857 I have to disagree there. Today wasn’t our game. We failed at our own game. No tries, pulled kicks that cost us and advantaged Ireland who are kick specialists. Their counter attack was massive. Today we simply didn’t play Bok style and we got punished for this. They were steady, especially in that first half while we simply didn’t come to the party. Second half was far better from us but Ireland just wasn’t going away. They dead locked us and we lacked a leader. There’s so much I can say, but in essence they deserved the win over us. One can tell just by those dying seconds. But also how they kept coming back after our leads. Yeeerrr today they gave us a run for our money.

@@nomsa06 regardless of the way any of us feel about anything regarding gameplan doesn’t change stats on the field and after the game. Yes we did not score tries but we kicked penalties. Tries are not the only facet of the game of rugby. You have many different layers to a game like lineouts and mauls and if infringed upon gains a penalty which you can slot over or choose to kick for touch. It’s all part of the game and if you infringe you best bet that you will be penalised for it. Once again you can feel a certain way about anything but let’s look at the stats fairly and give due where there is due. On the day there was very little separating the two sides and it took a spectacular moment by a fantastic player to come out on top. This is the beauty of sport and it’s great for the game as a whole. Now to address some of your feelings in detail. Pulled kicks is the nature of the game, you won’t always have the best day with the boot, as we saw last week with Ireland where that 1 kick in particular went our way in which we managed to convert into points as a result of a James Lowe error. However, I will acknowledge and agree to a game changing moment regarding a strange kick in today’s game, by Pollard, who made that first drop goal extremely easy for Ireland. His own goal line kick was right down the middle of the field and the Irish slotted it over for an easy 3 points. Looking at the scoreboard, well there was 1 point in it and if Ireland had not easily been allowed to slot that first drop goal well then SA supporters would be celebrating. The Irish counter attack only resulted in a single try right at the beginning and for the rest of the game, SA actually made more post contact meters with fewer carries overall. For a Bok Team who apparently didn’t play Bok style rugby, our scrums dominated significantly today (backed by stats) which was a huge improvement from last week! This has been the formula for success over a prolonged period now. However, the only point I can agree to here is the never ending hunger by Ireland to get over the line. They did it and the scoreboard shows it at the end of the day. 1 point separated the two teams and it is great for the game! Of course they gave us a run for our money as they beat us fair and square. I just don’t think that there was a tremendous amount of difference between the two sides.
