one of the best national anthems. maybe the most profound for his symbolic meaning for the languages in which it is sang. I've been in SA for a period and I love it. ciao from Italy.

I’m African American. But the South African national anthem gives me goosebumps when y’all sing all one. Always been a Springbok supporter since 94 when I was Nine. I totally understood Apartheid laws as my people suffered under Jim Crow Laws. But at least South Africa is trying, I know everything isn’t peachy and Keen, but at least there’s an attempt.

USA citzens would never accept a portion of their national anthem being sung in spanish or any other languageg despite claiming to be the melting pot of the world. The south african people despite their past have come to accept it and even made many distinct cultures a part of their national anthem, whereas our magnanimous country here in the USA refuses to.

@desterflan You claim English is your national language and call other people dumb, while it actually isn't and even if it was you have hardly even mastered it yourself. That's my point.
@MrMasque5 жыл бұрын
@desterflan Nice job with finally spell checking and editing that comment, maybe have a look at your first one as well? Don't go making statements about language and calling people dumb when you're making language mistakes in that very statement. As to the topic: you can have a majority language and still be a multilingual country. Happens all around the world. It has actually been happening in the U.S. for centuries.
