I think its because Really when you think about it, South Africa is just more of a fusion of the UK and USA. But i think our culture is more closely related to the UK culture, things like wearing uniforms for schools, Washing machines in the kitchen, Soccer being the dominant sport, driver seat on the right etc.. its a lot we share in common with the UK that UK will definitely feel more like home when compared to USA. But if we focus on entertainment, then America will feel like home, but the influence of entertainment sometimes make me believe that USA is a fictional place to a point where when i actually go there or meet an American, its like they are fake. My mind cant grasp that this is an actual person who is living in that place i saw on TV, and that place actually exists. Blows my mind sometimes, like shii, the Yellow school buses actually real, and the sheriff and cheer leaders for basketball 🤯🤯 Makes Americans almost feel like celebs.

From a family wedding, visiting family and friends across the country, and spending most of our time on the farms and wilderness. The wildlife is definitely and obviously different but there are a lot of similarities in the culture I am familiar with. It has become very clear that the food is better! The grains and vegetables taste real, the meats taste like God intended and the variety is wonderful. The style of cooking is unique and traditional and the people are lively. We all definitely had a good time. I'm going to miss South Africa when I get home. My only problem was not knowing much Afrikaans. It's my own fault🤦 and will be learning more as time moves on.
