Some South Carolina residents are calling the police over noisy cicadas that have emerged from underground. The once in a lifetime event is bringing two broods of cicadas together.

Well there aren't any other resources (for some reason) to get a hold of someone locally. Thats why police usually get called for just about anything

@@sicknadono, you shouldn’t call law enforcement they have more important things to be concerned about. No one can stop these beautiful insects from doing what the Lord has created for us. So sit back, relax and enjoy the wonderful sounds of nature. Count your blessings you’re hearing them.

As an American in Japan, this cicada "scare" is hilarious. It's far worse than that in Japan every summer. So hearing that people are contacting 911, I burst out laughing. 😂 I would love to hear their reasons for contacting 911, what threat to life and property they thought was happening, and what they expected emergency services to do about it. Cicadas are actually a great thing for Nature. It a sudden burst of food for pretty much everything bigger than a cicada. I get it that they're extremely loud, and only get louder as the weather gets hotter, but in Japan, just like earthquakes, that's life.

That just goes to show you how foolish people can be. Why call the police, it’s nature in effect it’s not the police officer’s responsibility? Why is this bothering people now, cicadas have been around way before us and I’ve heard them extremely loud as well. I love their sound, it beats the cars driving by with the mega bass blaring that’s for sure.

I hope the police are arresting and reading the Cicada their rights before they put really small handcuffs on them, or many it be best just to use a mason jar, that way the can get lot more caroled before the take them to jail.

According to that vague unlabeled unexplained bug map of fear, im pretty much going to be surviving on the Cicada front lines between insect bloods and insect crips….now if only instead of having some useless insect salad story crammed in there there to entertain the smoothie brains and got some actual information specifics and facts about this occurrence that hasn’t been around since 1803….Well that would’ve been something nice
