One of Tasmania's Great Multi-Day Walks, the 85 kilometre South Coast Track explores the wild and spectacular Southwest National Park. Passing through beautiful coastal scenery, rainforests, buttongrass plains and mountain ranges, the track is a true wilderness walk that is both challenging and rewarding - often in equal measure!
Join Mark (AKA The Life of Py), Bronwyn Wells and myself on this four part series as we make our way along the track from Melaleuca to Cockle Creek.

Thanks Kate! I definitely had the intention of presenting it in a way that gives a true understanding of the trail experience, so I’m glad that came across

Those last few kilometers on the open plain to Louisa River is a killer in that heat. I remember it well! I'm very much looking forward to watching how you go with the infamous Ironbound's decent! Beautifully shot.

Thank you, and glad you agree about those open plains. Even though this is my fourth multi-day in Tasmania, I still get surprised by how hot high 20s feels in more exposed terrain! The next episode is coming out in about 75 mins at the time of writing, and of course features the infamous Ironbounds. That descent felt like an obstacle course that went on forever - but I enjoyed that day much much more than Day 2

Great vid, well you nailed the weather, I did it October 22, 7 days rain and hail, our climb over the range in sleet was hard but fun. South coast track can be a tough walk.

Oof, that sounds significantly more challenging that what we experience! Yeah, the weather we had outstanding... two bits of drizzle, one was so inconsequential our tents were dry by the morning.

It is a beautiful part of the world. This was filmed during my fourth Tassie trip and I definitely want to get back there again sooner rather than later

Lovely film, top modelling and certainly brought back some welcome memories (even that second day hiking in wet boots then thongs)
