Hi mike, love your vids, you can try 2 or 3 Belleville spring washer 8mm placed on the head of your bolt 11:37. The spring washer may help to decrease the chocs on the bolt head. When the head touch the ground, and follow the ground, you have a gap between the bolt head and the cylinder, when you raise the cutting head or you have a gofer hole, that gap will decrease quickly and you snap the bolt head

Yes I was thinking how much those bolds would be from JD 😮. Shure you must be able to buy metric bolts over there same as we can buy imperial bolts over here just not as easy. Just need to find out what tensile they are. Surprised JD having used a special thread so you have to buy genuine. They do they with the round baler bearings ( made special size and can’t buy them from anywhere other than JD at their special price 😮)

That weatherproof door gasket back there looks like its better designed than the suspension bolts for the cutter bar! Get some U-bolts and some hard rubber axle buffers, rack it around those two bars and adjust as needed. Someone who was probably literally in the bathroom for 95% of their paycheck decided those bolts could take 7x the force they're rated for.

I think, the screw head becomes a point load from the two points it sits on the round bolt, event worse true the large chamfer, as it brings the load more away from the core and enlarged the lever. So it becomes cracks and breaks off, I would assume, that a soft washer (maybe a copper or alu seal) could help, as it distributes and dampens the load. (The second one maybe breaks on the thread due overload from the missing first one.)

I think I'd be tempted to run dual tires out on the far ends of the headers, on one each side of the bracket. That should cover gopher holes easier, and less bounce. But possibly be a bit harder on tire skid. Given the way the axles mount it should be easy enough to switch to duals. Mill two axles to thread together with a set screw to lock the threads.
