I appreciate your effort of putting together a video regarding South Gulf Cove. I own a home in that community on the water...so, I have traveled the area by boat and I am familiar with the homes/streets and more. Pretty much everything in the first couple minutes of your video (other than one of the neighborhood signs and then the park) doesn't look familiar and appears not be in our community. I even saw some high-rise buildings in one of your shots...busy roads that don't look familiar and homes/docks/waterways that also don't look familiar. Were the pictures/videos all taken in South Gulf Cove? You referenced Cape Coral...so maybe that is what you were showing during the first couple of minutes. I also noticed other shots showing things not from our area later in the video. That area that you mentioned as being the main canal is actually the Interceptor Lagoon...but, you are correct in that many travel that to gain access to the lock. The canals converge into the lagoon. The lagoon is often compared to lakes you might see in other areas. Hopefully, you will be able to put together some additional videos and pictures of the community that show the other parks and homes and waterways that more accurately reflect the community.

Thanks for your feedback. Not all of the shots are from South Gulf Cove specifically. The ones that are not are while we are discussing activities and they are showing the activities we are talking about, such as paddle boarding, kayaking, etc. which are not specific to the area and we can’t always catch someone doing the things we want while we are there and even if we can they may not be willing to allow us to use their likeness.

How deep are the canals that lead out to the lock?

Canal depths typically run at least 5 feet even in the dry season and can be as much as 9 feet behind the lock. This is one big reason why some people choose SGC over other areas with lots of canals like Punta Gorda or Cape Coral.

do you know how long it takes from the boat ramp to get to the gulf

I haven’t made the trip myself and my clients that live there are all on canals so they don’t use the ramp but from what I can tell it looks like it is probably 3-4 miles which is 30-45 minutes at no wake speed to get to the lock from the ramp.

Wtf pays a million for a house and has to idle 50 mins just to got thru a lock? Lol😅

The majority of the houses that cost a million don’t have a 50 min ride to get out. And the lock keeps the water level controlled so you don’t have flooding like we had in South Cape Coral during the last hurricane. Pros and cons to everything.
