Im italian and my father remembers the very first episodes bc of the dub. Its literally a cast of adults trying to sound like kids without voice changers but ending up talking like fucked up chipmunks wannabes. I love it.

In latinamerican spanish, they changed the word in the middle of the joke. They first said "varitas de pescado" (fishsticks) and then "verguitas de pescado" (fish dicks). In spain spanish they say "palitos de pescado" (fishsticks as well) but they don't add nothing to the joke so it doesn't make sense

Well, it doesn´t make sense in Latin Spanish either. First time i watched it in Spanish i was like "what? i don´t get it!". I immediately supossed it was one of many examples of the series when the jokes makes sense only in the language of origin.

They do that in the portuguese too, they first say "palitos de peixe" (fish sticks) but then say "pau de peixe", pau is like a general word for wood but is also slang for dick

i just find it interesting that they went with adult adjusting their own voice pitch while trey and matt with the other english voice actors use the mixes to speed up their voices. im not sure if they are other countries that go that far to get the authentic touch of the original.

As a French Canadian person, i'll explain the joke and you will see that it's just the same joke. Hey Clyde, est-ce que tu aimes les "Bites-o-nnets" de poissons ? Tu aimes mettre des "Bites-o-nnets de poissons" dans ta bouche ? Eh bah t'es pédé comme une raie ! The joke is the same. Fish Stick is "Bâtonnet de poisson", in french. Penis have a lot of synonymes in french and one of them is "Bite". (We can translate it in english by "Cock".) So they mixed "Bite" and "Bâtonnet de poisson" and it makes "Bite-o-nnet de poisson". Litteraly Fish Dicks in english. The last part of the joke is "T'es pédé comme une raie". "Pédé" means "Fag", "Gay" or "Pedophile" (here it's just the gay/fag meaning of the word). So the joke in french is: Hey, Clyde, do you like Fish Dicks? You like put Fish Dicks in your mouth ? Well you're gay/fag like a Stingray

Translating a scene involving a pun is already usually hard because you tend to have to come up with a new pun for the scene to make sense but this episode is a disaster in that regard because the whole thing started with cooking fish sticks, Cartman keeps gesturing to his mouth, & Kanye literally comes to the conclusion that he's a gay fish at the end. None of that makes sense if you change the pun.

@@vt490 creí que Brasil tenía estudio propio de doblaje, en México tuvimos nuestro propio doblaje pero los latinoamericanos se quejaron de los modismos y falta de groserías y se tuvo que cancelar. Esto es lo malo de no hacer doblajes solo para tu país a diferencia de Brasil y España.

@@vt490 se transmitió al resto de los países hispanoamericanos, pero no les gustó por la voz de Cartman, la casi nula presencia de insultos y por los modismos mexicanos, y no es la primera vez que pasa esto con un doblaje. Por cosas así prefiero que México tuviera su doblaje propio como lo hace Brasil, para evitar problemas con otros países.

in polish language it does have sense, ,,ciota" is offensive word for gays. Also - ,,flet" is replacement word for p*nis, so when you say ,,rybie filety" fast someone can hear this as ,,rybie flety"

Aqui no Brasil a palavra palito ou pau tem a mesma conotação sexual do inglês só que a diferença é que ao invés de falar gosta de por o palito de peixe na boca ele disse gosta de por o pau que são palavras com o mesmo significado mas diferentes
