Awesome! I really enjoyed the chase. I didn't know the Mexican component had a maroon scheme. They will blend in well when 2816 goes south. Too bad I won't see it in Eastern Canada. Well done!

Been trying to catch the train for a while but it sometimes passes in my area and I always miss it since my area is mostly BNSF and UP. It has been down here passing through UP Englewood Yard in Houston or it passes right through tower 26 as well. But I never could get it. I do have the limited edition book on the KCS. It sad that I use to live 14 years in Baton Rouge and it never crossed my mind on spotting this train. I guess I was mostly focus on life and also on SP 745. My family member who works for CPKC has been a conductor on this train for two routes last year. And one of my friends who works for CPKC also was the engineer for the Christmas event with the train. Hopefully one day I will get that chance to spot this train. Hopefully I am not busy with my conductor life working for BNSF.

Really wished I could’ve went out there to catch the Business Train myself but at least I know there’s always next time to get it. Great job on the video as always Bishop! You honestly never fail to impress anytime you make these man!

KCS's "Arthur E. Stillwell" is the former (and only) Midsouth Rail Corp.'s business car "The Prospector." The KCS converted its original open rear platform to the current theater glass rear end.

Actually that’s incorrect. The Midsouth Business Car Prospector was sold to the IAIS. The current Arthur E.Stillwell was rebuilt in 2006 from an ex NYC.

@@killersopinion1829 Yes it was repainted to Belle and ran on the train as Laredo , before being sold to IAIS, which it’s still in the Belle scheme

@@damianbradley I found pictures of it on RRPicturesArchives yesterday. I was happy to see that the rear platform was not altered like I originally thought. Thank you for this information. Been trying to keep up with the history of all of Midsouth's equipment and where it went. I went inside the Prospector in the early 90s right before KCS took over. It was absolutely gorgeous with mahogany wood all in it.

I hope that CPKC keeps the F Units painted as is. Better yet, just paint everything in the southern belle paint scheme and use the name Canada Southern, with reporting marks CASO. The original Canada Southern was located in southern Ontario and had these reporting marks.

From what I know these engines are in great condition and unlikely to be retired, but I sure do hope cp doesn’t repaint em.

Hopefully they don’t do what other roads have done and get rid of the F units all together. The last time I caught that train was in March 2010 in Ruston. Tried to get it again a year later but it was dark by the time it showed up which killed the photo op.

Most roads only ditched them because the engines reached the end of their lives. NS did so because their frames were 100k miles away from breaking. These units are in great shape all around unlike the NS ones which were rotting frames dressed up to look pretty. In way better shape than CP’s F units. The biggest risk appears to be CP turning them into their own F units.
