Southern Church Recipes Part 1
• SOUTHERN CHURCH COOKBO...
The Best Slow Cooker Mac & Cheese
To slow cooker add:
3 cups uncooked noodles, COOKED FIRST
1.5 sticks metlted butter
2 cups mexican cheese blend
1 cup shredded cheddar
1 small package velveeta, cubed
2 cups whole milk
1 can evaporated milk
3 eggs beaten, with salt and pepper
Cook on low 4 hours, stirring half way through.
Ritz Chicken
-3-4 Chicken Breasts
-1 can cream of chicken
-2 sleeves Ritz Crackers
-1 cup sour cream
-salt and pepper
-parsley to taste
-1/2 stick butter, melted
Place chicken breasts into slow cooker. In small bowl, mix together soup, sour cream, and seasoning. Spread over chicken. Crumble 1/2 of Ritz crackers on top. Pour butter over crackers. Cook 5 hours on low. When almost ready to eat, top with more Ritz Crackers for crunch. Serve over rice or mashed potatoes!

Haha. Your husband- "it makes it do good." That's right, sir, it sure does. I just love your channel. Us old church ladies have the best recipes and if it says Velveeta, you know it's good. Thanks for the yummy ideas.

Hey Jen! Thats a great idea! Your right. Sometime the paper towel dont work. Yes girl!!! Eggs in the mac n cheese is a MUST! I'm in SC, and I've grown up eating it that way. She is so precious and sweet helping you. My daughter is 9 and I can't seem to get her interested in helping me cook lol. I will have to look for those chips! The Easter bunny would LOVE those cookies! I just loaded up on church cookbooks. My mother in law has collected them for years. She just gave me about 50 of them! Some of them are so old. I hate reading, but i could literally sit and read those cookbooks all day long. It's so interesting to even see the names of ingredients and stuff. Some stuff I have to Google. Lol. And the names of recipes!🤣 and I love how a lot of them have that 1 recipe that calls for a dash of kindness, a sprinkle of grace, love, etc. I love this series you're doing. Church cookbooks are some of my favorites. I have found some really old ones at garage sales, thrift stores. They have the best recipes.

I have only made mac and cheese once with eggs and it was my husband’s favorite. He said it tasted like his mom’s.👍🏻. Both of the other recipes will be added to my list to try. Thank you so much for sharing!

Another great video. Thanks for the recipes. I love church cookbooks. A recipe that family & friends ask for the recipe came from a church cookbook. In the church cookbook it is called rabbit pie. I substitute rabbit for chicken . It is not chicken pot pie with pie crust, it is a topping made with flour, similar topping to a drop biscuit.

Really love the Crockpot Chicken recipe where u cook whole then shred at end & love the over rice idea. It reminds me of a fabulous Hot Chicken Salad recipe, where u add Celery & Cashews! Great for Baby & Wedding Showers too!

Tried it just like she said and nope this recipe was a no go. Not like southern mac and cheese at all. More like constipation city. The cheese mess was so hard to clean up and hard to eat, just to much cheese never thought I would say that but yeah way too much. Just tasted gross my family hated it. They wanted me to go back to my macaroni pie I normally make

I would take the ritz crackers and butter and place them in oven to get crispy. When you are ready to serve just spread over the top while still in crockpot

If you want crispy crackers, I’d put the butter on them and fix them in the oven, then add them when you serve it.

Love both recipes, I will make them and the Cookies Yum. They have Bob Evan’s mashed potatoes by the meat all different ones with garlic and herbs. They are so good like home made. They have been Handy so many times coming in late and putting a meal together.

I just love your darling personality and sweet voice. I lived in the south for 10 years (live in the Midwest now) but I miss hearing all the sweet as honey accents and voices of my friends and neighbors. I've been out of the South now for over 20 years but I still say y'all, and sometimes all y'all - even if I do get the occasional odd look - ha!
