Tammy, if you buy peppers when on sale and there are too many to use before going bad, just rinse and put it in the freezer whole. Pull when you need some and it doesn’t have to be fresh. I am a widow and this really works for me.

Joan, I never knew that I could freeze the Bell Peppers Whole. Do you also wrap your Bell Peppers in Foil before you freeze them?
@joanfels6641
@joanfels6641 3 жыл бұрын
@@partygoer0078 No, I do nothing more than wash and put in a zipper bag. When needed, you can run warm water over or let thaw just enough to cut off amount needed. Toss back in the freezer til you need again. Remember, these will not work in salads, etc., when you want the crunch.

My family is Irish, Scottish. We got too have cornbeef and cabbage potatoes and black eyed peas. The cabbage is for your wealth, the cornbeef for your health the potatoes Because we came a thousand miles too eat them, and the black eyed peas too see our future. Corn bread Because it just tasted good. Couldn't afford the brisket this year so I fried cabbage with the corn beef canned mind you , fried the potatoes and and the black eyed peas. Was something yummy. Great video lady. I dont think these young people get what good food is all about no more. I love that soul food seasoning from the dollar tree.this looks so delicious.

This is what I found about not using the seeds in the bell peppers - The heat resides within that whitish pith, which holds the seeds, so when removing that for heat purposes, you'll lose the seeds anyway. The biggest reason you may want to remove your pepper seeds before cooking with or eating them is TEXTURE.

In a hurry, I use cole slaw mix in the bag, $1.79, also has shredded carrots in it. I render the bacon, throw in the veggies, turkey sausage or not,and garlic and sometimes add potatoes, or left over fries chopped up, then the slaw and seasonings…mostly pepper. Cover and cook about 20 minutes. Quick meal, healthy…depending on what you add. A family favorite, especially in the winter.

I can't function in the kitchen without my Rada knives! 🔪 I like the one piece construction cause most knives loosen eventually from the handle. I've been using them since the 90's when I discovered them; our church ladies group was selling them as fundraiser. I managed to find some as sets on Wal-Mart.com & bought some new ones.

I fry cabbage with bacon grease, salt, pepper and sometimes pepper flakes. Mama always boiled it and I didn't start frying it until I got married in 1977. My husband's mama fried it.

The seeds can get trapped in your intestines. Especially not good if you have colitis. Seeds of Any kind can get trapped. I , myself DO like seeds in the food. Doesn’t bother me at all

It's havoc on Diverticulitis as well! My son was diagnosed at a young age....It runs in our non-immediate family members also! Not a good disease to have....But seeds of ANY kind are OFF LIMITS! 😕😢

I commented before that you remind me of a lady that I worked with back in the 80s at a 4 star restaurant/hotel. She was a wonderful cook and person...just like yourself. Fried cabbage brings back memories of working with her. Have you ever made neck bones and pinto beans with cornbread?

My dad cooked with it all the time. He cooked it like this and you can use it fresh as coleslaw put in food processor with carrots and onions, little green bell pepper, add mayo, bit salt it’s ready in minutes. You can make it coarse or fine. It’s great with organ meats, we loved it with fried chicken livers (which he served with an onion dip made with French’s onion soup mix + fried bacon). He converted many a young person who hated liver😂 at our house serving it this way! Haha The cabbage fiber helps with density of meat to digest it. Serve with pintos or white northern beans & cornbread, you can get well eating this way! 😆🙌 Cabbage is good for bones. Now I’m hungry and missing dad ... I think of him every time I’m at the stove. Years ago when he got out of work he started cooking while me and my brother were still in school. Friends started showing up, even the neighborhood cats & dogs. If you’re lonely, start cooking!! 😂

I’ve been hearing about White Lily for a couple of years now and my grocery started carrying the AP. I used it in biscuits and, yes, it does make a superior biscuit.
