Years ago when I moved to South Florida, the corporation I work for insisted that we wear a suit and tie everyday. I seldom, if ever, wore the jacket. I was usually in shirt sleeves because it is so stupid hot in the summer. A regional director came to visit and to make sure I was doing things properly in accordance with corporate standards. We had an appointment in downtown Miami, as usual, there was no parking. We parked about two blocks from the office tower. He insisted that I wear my jacket and I told him I would not. I left it hanging in the car. That began to make his blood boil. I explained that we will not be presentable by the time we get to the meeting. He wore his suit and enjoyed the two and a half blocks stroll to the building. By the time we got there, he excused himself. He said I'm going to wait down here in the lobby for you I looked and his hair was flat with sweat. His glasses were fogged up, he had sweat stains through his shirt and his jacket. He was wiped. I was not written up for not following the dress code. He never came back.

🤣🤣🤣 HUMIDITY 🤣🤣🤣 So true! I especially loved the one skit with the two guys in the office & the one guy says to the other guy "It shouldn't be too bad out today" & the other guy says "you must not be from around here". 🤣🤣🤣 I like it when 'implants' say "it's so hot" and it's only April or May & I tell them to "brace themselves because we haven't hit August & September yet"!

Thought I was out of shape once, but while up North, I walked over 3 miles non stop at a park and was amazed!!! I wasn’t the slightest bit winded and would have kept circling the lake if it wasn’t time to leave. Got home a week later, and, damn, I was “out of shape” and gasping for air again like a catfish out of water-just walking from the car to the store. 😢
@mr.mrs.j75993 жыл бұрын
Exactly! So that's why people in the south always used to have big porches, you just can't do nothin'. Perfect example by the way, feeling like your "out of shape" and "gasping for air".👌

I arrived at Houston Intercontinental around midnight after diverting to Dallas-Ft Worth because of tornados. Walking through the airport and checking-in for my rent-a-car it was like heaven. Working for a few years in California I had forgotten all about that thing called humidity. I got to the exit doors to pick-up my car and BANG I went from cool and comfortable to soaked and miserable in under .12 seconds. The misery on my California bred co-worker's face was painful to observe. Another perfect representation of the South.

When I was an aircraft mechanic stationed at Nellis AFB in Las Vegas years ago we would go down to Tyndall AFB in Panama City, FL once every three months for a week so our F-15 pilots could train. Even in summer we would get down there and couldn't wait until we got back to Vegas and 110+ degree heat with NO humidity.

Ok I can deal with humidity during the summer. THE MOSQUITO'S I HATE THEM. So bad here the big ones carry you off to feed the little ones ☠☠☠
@angelawagner31815 жыл бұрын
I second that. We saw way more mosquitos in N. Michigan than we do in Texas. Not to worry: the void left by mosquitos was filled by roaches. (We didn't have roaches back home. Too cold. We did have June bugs, which are like roaches that attack you and tangle in your hair if you venture outdoors at night...but they all die after a few weeks.)
