For those unaware the second engine in the doubleheader, 1765, is preserved at the Lomita Railroad Museum. To my knowledge, this is the only known footage of her in operation, although there are likely many more home movies of this special that were likely lost to time. Keep up the good work bro!

I live near Grapevine, TX and grew up with 2248, as its current home is the Grapevine Vintage Railroad. Previously, it had been on the Texas State Railroad as their No. 200. It's amazing to see footage of that specific engine from so long before either of those!

I know some people at the grapevine railroad (the owners of 2248) and they’re doubtful she’ll ever run again, apparently the owners of her and attempting to cut costs at every opportunity and they’re hesitant on forking over the slightest bit of money to build any part, she’s cycled through 3-4 boiler companies and she hasn’t gotten any major work done in months, people in charge of her restoration have been fired multiple times and it’s possible she’ll end up as a static display piece or just never reassembled again, or by some MIRACLE she’ll be finished by the end of the decade
