@@mrshunter1990 Tiger fans were partying hard from start to finish. Not just the “Neck” song. Southern University’s band has a great repertoire of music. Even AFTER the game, people stuck around to enjoy the atmosphere. This was far greater than just one specific song 🎵.

This gives me chills every time I watch this clip... I was there, and it was LIT!!!! Being from South Baton Rouge and an SU alumnus made this experience something to be a part of!!! Salute to SU and LSU!! The entire STATE came out!!!

I didn't see it posted here, but the story is known that the SU Band Director and LSU Director are good friends. When Ed Ogeron left, the new Football Coach told the LSU Band not to play Neck anymore because they weren't willing to pay the SEC imposed fine. So his good friend, the Director of SU's Band, not having had this meeting or discussion, played it for his friend.

Amazing performance. As an LSU fan I have been thoroughly enjoying the videos from this past weekend, and hearing stories. I wish we could get Southern to play every year. The hype about the band is legit. Some heros do wear capes.

LSU doesn’t play Neck for the sound, they play it for the fans to release that STTDB! When the SU band started playing it, they got cranked up even more.

@@rockmyworldmusic I hear what you're saying, but the thing is that the fans aren't deciding to do the chant independently at each game. They know what the song means, and it's an automatic thing that if the band plays Neck, the fans will do the same chant. So the band is inviting the chant by playing the song.

If money weren't an issue, I'd fly my happy ass to Baton Rouge, just to go to a Southern vs LSU game, JUST to watch the bands. The mixture of cultures, the contrast of corps and traditional, it's beautiful! Although my family follows LSU in general for NCAA teams, I will never not love The Human Jukebox, and will pick them over anyone else, every time! Cheers from the Carolinas!

Now, I don't want to say this b/c I'm very fond of Mr. Taylor - b/c of the way he conducts himself & passes on the words of the legendary Dr. Greggs - I'm inspired by Dr. Greggs' words of encouragement to the band. I'll paraphrase, Be extraordinary. Do more, Be better. ** I'm always long-winded so I apologize in advance. ** I just want to say that y'all know Mr. Taylor was wrong for those tubas. I mean he needed at least 12 more - four at every corner of "Death Valley". Maybe he needed 20 more tubas, then he could have encircled (big word) the whole football field...no. no he would have needed a 100 more for that. The football team may have lost but The Human Jukebox always has their claws out & ready to maul an opposing band. The claws just look like instruments. Normally jaguars play with their food. Based on the "Skin I'm In", and the long cut it made on my left hand, when I reached out to turn the volume down, this year the Jukebox is going straight for the KILL. Y'all don't understand. I live near San Francisco. I've been waiting 9 long months for band season to start. Ok! I may need to seek some "Bandhead Wannabe" therapy. Let me know if you can suggest anyone. Bye!

When SU played "Neck"... You can tell that LSU let out all of the frustration they had held in against SU for years. LSU band [the student] was even happy that SU [the teacher] showed them how to rock their own fans. That means The Human Jukebox put a stamp on the song "Neck" in their Stadium. It was Signed Sealed And Delivered from the best in the country. [The Southern University Human Jukebox].👍🏾
