Antique bottles can be worth a fortune! We scored a few Coke Hutchinson bottles in the last year and this is a live look at an Ebay listing ending worth thousands! Buying for Resale can be tricky! But we Scored big time on this one! Sometimes bottle digging and collecting pays off! This is definitely on of those times. Bottle Flip!

I have found like 200 bottles at this point since I started this hobby, and it has not once occurred to me that someone might think that I shouldn't be selling old bottles. My bottles were discarded as trash and left to the elements until I SAVED them.

Good video Brandon. Great explanation. Not everyone can get out and dig for bottles, and not everyone can find bottles to resell, or has the knowledge to buy and resell. You and your digging friends are providing unique expertise, and knowledge, and bottles to collectors that can’t do what you do. You are making a market, providing goods and services to willing participants, and expanding good old fashioned capitalism to the far corners of the world. Keep up the good work!

I know I am late to the party but better late than never. I think it's a really Great idea to do videos on buying bottles because it reaches the other treasure hunting aspect or concept and alot of people are passionate about bottles who have health issues who can't dig 20 ft holes and watch your videos salvating at the mouth and just want to get their hands on an old Hutch or any of these examples on your channel. Thanks for your content and hard work.

I see no problem with buying, selling, and trading, for historical bottles. People want to be able to touch, feel, hold, and talk about such items. My bottle collection is going to increase by leaps and bounds. Even though I live in Southern California, where we have earthquakes daily with some being large, they will be wrapped up in bubble wrap, and placed in empty draws that can not be tipped over. I would love to see what it would be like to be at a bottle show. That would be totally awesome!!

I opened up a door in our basement wooded floor to fix the main waterline in a flip house that I own. Lowered myself, and lowered myself down. I turned the flashlight on, and seen bottles everywhere. Many were broken, but I still hauled out of there over 200 bottles in one day. I now found a new hobby. I go down, and digfor a couple of hour's a week, and find more bottles to bring home. The only problem is my wife is not pleased that I took over one of our adult daughter's old bedroom. I'm closing in on 300 bottles from the 1940's to the late 1800's. Luckily my other hobby of collecting rocks, and crystal's is in my workshop or she would do away with both my hobbies in short time. 😅

I buy and resale all the time. I bought some rare bottles from a construction worker onetime. He was asking 3 bucks a piece for bottles that were super rare. When I told him they were worth a lot more than that he laughed and said not to me. Ended up buying his entire truck bed full of bottles because I felt bad cherry picking. Just be fair to people and ethics isn't a problem. I still like you guys!

Agree with what you said 100% 👍 A few other factors that have affected prices of bottles in Australia is people digging hoards of previously rare bottles at a new site and on the flip side the destruction of rare collections in bushfires and earthquakes . In Perth they dug out an old dump next to the river to make way for a quay and were pulling out thousands of Codd bottles and the value of a few of my most prized bottles basically halved. Loving your videos, cheers

Find more! Whether deals in shops or out digging. You have a talent you've spent time and work developing. You are able to recognize value in what others either don't care about, or haven't put in the work to learn. I can relate. I've found all kinds of treasures in the trash. I learned to pay attention and then found my markets. Some people will scoff and ask how much time I spend digging in trash. I don't. Treasure stands out from trash. (That's actually quite profound.) It just has a way of presenting itself. Some finds come through intuition. I'll be walking up to the cab, feel "wait a second" and go back and see the treasure. Sometimes little. Sometimes more than a weeks wages. I give thanks and carry on. Happy hunting. :)

I agree on your views on coke hobbleskirts. I live in Maui Hawaii and I have found that every island had their own embossing weather it was bye island or city. I also want to note that many Hawaiian CokaColas are marked with T.H. Territory of Hawaii. That ups the value. Maui has 5 or 6 variations of this. In my opinion the most valuable Hawaiian Coke a Cola is from The island of Molokai City of Kaunakakai T.H. I've see it sold for $250. While Maui T.H. Bottles go for $50- $100

Fascinating! Thanks for letting us in behind the scenes. I would love to see a video on how you buy and sell. I was a "book scout" in the 70's and 80's (finding collectible old books and reselling to dealers) and I imagine the bottle business is similar. really useful information!! I totally agree that it is fine to sell stuff you find on hunts to defer costs. it can get expensive for sure. . we base most of our hunts out of Denver, which requires a plane ticket for me, meet up with my buds. often drive hundreds of miles to new mexico, it's, Arizona etc we like to find things we have little interest in, but know other people collect. we do this to deflect the myriad of costs involved.

Good information on the digging or finding them. I'm disable now and would love to go out digging. To your point on if you dig it or buy it. I do the same thing. I'm a soda can collector pre 1980. I have had nice finds through people I know on picking up from 1 can, bottle to a lot or small collection and keep some and sell or trade them. I'm old school and like trading with collectors from all over the states to even Canada or overseas. I started to collect Los Angeles and surrounding cities bottles . Paper label soda bottles are my favorite. I also pick up soda labels and find the correct bottles and crowns that went on them. My newest thing is the blob tops now adding to my collection. My first one was Los Angeles, Picked up a Santa Ana Ca. Blob top that is awesome and YES a Coca Cola blob top Los Angeles is on my wish list. I look in antique shops and yard sales for them also. Soda cans are growing in prices now. Some go up in price big time that are a $10.00 to $70.00 bucks in the book. I've seen a lot of cans just get big money and have no idea why. I do the same thing on Ebay look up the can and see what it sold for and average that out and list. Also you have my email when you come across some Slicks 6oz 6 1/2oz and so on. Email me when you get a chance. mark_perez323@yahoo.com Thanks Mark

Dude thank you, I dont make any money on bottles. I dig and spend a lot of money on bottles in Pittsburgh. Im only 32 and I have 100k in bottles. I would never consider selling these bottles. But I can't imagine what will happen to them when I die. People my age and younger just dont give a shit about bottles and antique glass or really history at all. I belong to the Pittsburgh Bottle Club and Im the youngest by 25 years. I love glass and have dug for it and collected it since 2010 in Arkansas, Louisiana and now for the past 7 years in western PA, WV and eastern OH. Glass is an easily accessible and incredibly beautiful route to learn about history. But nobody cares about history anymore my age or younger. Its sad as hell. They only care about being "social justicy" without actually learning anything about history at all or going outside to learn anything. Efffff, I just want people respect history and learn about it; whether it be bad history or good and preserve both sides of it.

I agree with you. It is hard for me to find bottle spots so mostly I buy and when opportunity is there to make a little profit I will sell pieces I don't like as much as others. Unlike silver and gold items or relics from metal detecting, bottles take up a lot of storage space. It is not easy to sell bottles. Just because e.g. embossed milk sells for 20 + at an antique store does not mean that is the value. To most collectors that bottle is worth probably 5-10$. Going to buy a lot of embossed local drug store for 2$ a piece, plus a bunch of other insulators and bottles from a fellow digger this week. Probably will make a video of the loot lol. Would definitely see videos about reselling. ATB, Sebastian

Bottle collecting is not as big in the UK, after doing a river hunt and finding some antique bottles I contacted an auctioneer who told me people do collect bottles but you need a job lot and that will sell for about £30

I do bealieve that would interest a vast amount of people who watch your channel. I feel like if purchase a bottle and you want to resell it, that is entirely up to you. I don't think ANYONE has a right to judge you for your decision. The only way anyone would have a right to feel any kind of way about it is if THEY purchased it and gave it to you as a gift. Even then, it is up to you what you so with it.

Roughly 13% after eBay and PayPal. Roughly 100 bucks for insurance on a $6000 bottle. Which is what it should be insured for even though you can’t on eBay insured for more than the selling price. Sorry I am an EBAYER

be careful with what you do sell - there are laws about selling certain artifacts - I learned about it in archaeology classes in college :)

I sell a lot of the things I find, I don't see why anyone has a problem with it. Are we supposed to hang on to every little thing until the day we die? And what happens then? Someone else sells it all, or doesn't understand its value and it goes to the dump. And if I kept every thing I've ever found I'd need a much bigger house. People need to understand too, that there are some who don't have the financial luxury of hanging on to valuable items. For some people that $3900 dollar bottle might be what pays a medical bill, or covers car repairs, who can say? I could sure use $3900 more than I need a bottle on a shelf.
