Great message. My father was a merchant marine and was gone six months and home for two weeks and then gone again etc. He wasn't there. I learned the prayer called the "Our Father" by many when I was six years old. However, I was always close to my mother and not my father. My mother was like a father and a mother. I would go to her and wouldn't lie to her when growing up. I felt safe with mom. It would have been easier for me to see God as my mother. God is a not like earthly fathers. He is so much better. He is our heavenly Father, the Father Almighty Creator of the Heavens and the earth, and my Savior. (Isaiah 12: 2)

Everyone is a creation of God. Not everyone is a child of God. Likewise how God extends His general restraining grace to everyone, He does not extend saving grace to everyone.
