Productivity is the speed mod, the efficiency is the yield, your getting an extra 19% of materials, but its working like its 2 refineries, and costing you less power than 2 refineries, youve set your refinery up the same way i do all of mine, 2 power, 1 yield and 1 speed, seems like the best way to do it.

Yeah I noticed that a little later during editing 😅. Usually I go for 2 Yield Modules and 2 Speed Modules, but I reckon this is one of the best features of the game, being able to set up the assembler or refinery for your current base condition, pretty cool 😎👌

For the wind turbines to work at peak, they need 8 blocks clearance from the ground and from each other. But if they are not in the same block plane than less is enough to. Stratus Gaming has an excellent tutorial on this topic with more episodes.

56:30 SUGGESTION.... Put your ship's actual docking port another 50 meters or so away from your solar tower. It also will double as a potential conduit to feed components to your dry dock area along with power for you welder wall.

ProTip: for future endeavors, pound for pound, ingots are more weight / space effective than raw ore. Making basic refinery / assembler complex will pay dividends in the long run... P.S. -- adding storage might be helpful as well....AND guns. Never rely on the enemy to be sleeping at your convenience.

A few thoughts: What I would like to have (which is of course _not_ the same as "what you should have") attached to the big ship when it's ready to start exploring is at least one utility ship (similar in function to your Midas class ships), a lander for visiting planets, a "gunship" and a "space bike". The "space bike" would be the smallest, just a seat, a few thrusters and a landing gear for towing/parking. Useful for navigating tight areas, manipulating pieces of wreckage and also a really cheap exploration vehicle. The utility ship/s is of course for mining and similar tasks, since it would be impractical to keep using your main lander for that. The lander is kind of self-evident. The big ship isn't made for landing on planets, after all. As for the gunship, it isn't necessary, you could just put some extra guns on your lander or the big ship. However, I think it might be _cheaper_ in the long run to have a compact large-grid ship to do most of the fighting. It can be built to withstand a beating without costing as much as putting lots of armour on the main ship, and even just a few of the heavy guns would let you deliver a lot of ranged damage to hostile bases or slow ships, rather than building many heavy turrets. If you can use that instead of exposing your other vehicles to damage, I think you will end up using less resources for repair. I could of course be wrong... Anyway, those are some of my thoughts, but I don't know what you have planned, so treat it as you will.

when adding Parachutes = always make the Canvas at the same time so the Parachute cans will auto pull through the conveyor network. land on a lake and load up on H2 to properly fill your tanks. 11% fuel will not get you back into orbit. optimal Turbine height is 10 blocks above any obstacle or ground and at least 8-10 blocks between towers. each tower can hold 5 turbines set in a cross pattern. search the workshop for a mod that adjusts turbine generation based on Wind Speed. Sigma Draconis Servers did have that on their Survival Impossible run. add 2 LG small Cargo Containers on the tank ends for improved capacity and build a Cargo Container on the ground base to hold mined resources to transfer up. place 4 Batteries and a Basic Assembler to make those power cells.

LOL, yeah my planning is on point in this episode 😎. When I was doing the Wasteland Survival series the wind turbines would double when a storm rolled in, but that was on Pertam so I'm not sure if something has changed or if that's just the way it works on Earth like.

A thing to keep in mind when welding the big ship is that it seems to have a lot of unfinished blocks in its "finished" state, such as many of the catwalk pieces. If you want to keep them like that, or replace them with different blocks, you're probably going to have to micro-manage the welding process a bit. Nice work with the lander!
@TheGarageGamer86
@TheGarageGamer86 Жыл бұрын
Yeah I'm probably gonna swap out all the incomplete blocks with those beams blocks for the most part, and then probably end up replacing all of the catwalks with the ones that are in the DLC 😎👍. I think this ship was built even before that DLC came out! But yeah this one will be a pain to weld up, I'm thinking a printer would be in order for this build!

@@TheGarageGamer86 I'm one of those people who absolutely _have_ to build things to look nice as well as be functional, so I would have spent a lot more time and resources on rearranging the spawn ship. It looks... weird. But! It worked fantastically for its purpose! You didn't even need the parachutes. High marks for functionality. As for the big ship, I think it's going to need a few more gatling turrets before you take it out for its maiden voyage. It looks like it only has two in its original form, is that correct? I'm not sure how dangerous the enemies will get eventually, but I think I would go for 4 - 6 gatlings around the fuselage, and maybe one or two big static guns pointing forward. The ship isn't a war ship, but it seems like that would give it the capacity to defend against a few drones _and_ engage bases and slow ships from long range.

For me when I use wind turbines I tend to do a single tower that has a total of 5 turbines one in each cardinal direction and one at the top it is the most efficient way to lay out a wind turbine that I have found. I just make sure the center block is fully welded before filling out all the other blocks in each direction. Normally 5 working optimally in a standard game is enough for a starter base to stay running without trouble with a couple of batteries for backup.
@nvfury13
@nvfury13 Жыл бұрын
Unless you put the ones that are horizontal at different levels, at least two block levels between, they interfere with each other if you use a single block tower. If you put a single block against the single block tower under every windmill, and have those four two blocks below where you place the vertical one, you get rid of any interference.

if you place your refinery modules so that only one port of the module is attached you get more out of them total once you have 8 modules hanging off your refinery. same goes for your assemblers. and the other side of the module can be attached to another refinery for some extra bonus on the other refinery.

Hello my friend,, today’s topic is your wind turbine’s placement and function == according to pro player for space engineers and u tuber ,, Splitzy,,, you should place wind towers up ⬆️ on top a hillside,, to maximize your availability to the wind ,,placing them anywhere else,, decreases their efficiency and effectiveness to produce power,,, step #2), place wind turbine towers at least 8 to 12 blocks apart from one another, step #3), build each tower up to the same height as the distance apart,, 8 to 12 blocks high ,, if you did all the above steps correctly,, you should see appox. 365 kilowatts per generator used ..Splitzy,, also recommends utilizing all 4 outter block areas at the top 🔝 of each of your towers,, doing so,, allows you to generate almost 2 mega watts of power per tower used. And thusly,, charging up your rover and other equipment takes only about 20 minutes from a almost dead ☠️ bank of power cells … remember working smarter and not harder,, is always beneficial to you my friend ❤😊❤
