TBH, I'd *love* to become a "Space Sentinel" (heheh). Clear the jank, bring it back for recycling, etc. But it's obviously a YOUNG MAN'S job, and I'm no longer 20. Sure, maybe if I had endless resources, I'd start up a company. But... HA... like *I'M* made of money. I'm only an unknown, award-winning author. I have like $24, lol.

Time is the primary issue. And logistics (which ties into tempo). At BEST, the orbital window from Earth to Mars is akin to two years. Even if it was only ONE, if you miss the orbital window, the TTT (Time2Target) is only going to increase, or actually become implausible due to MISSING the gravitational assists. Even if all goes well, that's at least one year to get there, and at least one to return. If anything goes wrong to or from... that's suuuper hyper bad, lol. Obviously. Even then, now comes the REAL work. You gotta start doing something significant, son. Planting crops. Cultivating an environment. Preparing for dusty disasters. Praying everything goes swimmingly. Don't run out of food and fresh water, etc. Return, and repeat. Do you have *ANY* idea how difficult that baton race would be? And if mankind doesn't begin TODAY... which it cannot... it won't be ready for a truly reliable "E2M freight train" for at least a decade or three. So... 2044? 2054? 2064? At best. #NotFeasible

This is actually terrifying because it will not stop as long as corporations have zero incentive with the large swaths of land they buy. When viable land becomes scarce along with resources, they will make sure they are safe somehow while the rest of us are left with increasing dangerous natural disasters or death by malnutrition.

Got to see the actual shuttle window with the paint chip damage in an aerospace class at KU years ago. It was probably a dew milligrams but almost punched through the several inch thick window.. Space debris removal missions were discussed. Grabbing large chunks of a foot diameter and bigger and then space blankets that slow or trap small debris. Eventually photonic pressure can slow and degrade the orbits of junk but it can take decades.

The cold, hard reality is that Mars isn't even truly an option. The logistics on rocket propulsion alone do not work nor do they make any sense. Certainly not for organic passengers. Only robots or droids could be sent. And so far, all of them are far too slow, too fragile, or too reliant on technological perfection to function properly. Just look at the JWST; it's incredible, but its purpose was special, specific, and unprepared for something like preparing Mars for organic existence.

We will never go to other stars because of the deadly cosmic rays and tiny particles in space. A space vehicle traveling at 500,000+ mph would be shredded by time it reaches the next star. Pushing an asteroid in front of a spaceship would give it some cover but the energy required would be too huge. We are stuck here.

You can achieve the same thing with a single st rocket, 1 box of wood screws and 2 rolls of cling wrap. Will cause a cascade locking is in for no less than 150 years. Theoretically. Which could be used as a protective blanket as well from intruders.

We won’t get stuck . Just shoot a electro magnetic rocket and fly it around for a few years . Then explode it . Sounds like a lot of free recyclable metals . Which can possibly be repurposed in space to build other useful items needed . Like replacement parts

I believe that if we can get a self sufficient presence in space (and i don’t mean a colony on a planet or moon, But rather asteroid mining) that it would give us the infrastructure to tackle this problem. We’d also need to be mindful not to exacerbate the already present problem. We can’t clean this up if we get stuck here. Nor can we clean it up if we just stop sending stuff to orbit ether. To solve this problem, we need to actually go out there and start working on it from the other side. (As in building facilities off planet) the space side, so to say.

Ideally it would greatly help if all nations with space programs, cooperate and work together to solve this. (At the very least, to not make it worse) Though I doubt we can get everyone to agree on that (especially not Russia or China. I’m not entirely sure where China would lean, with my present understanding, I’d estimate a 25 to 30% chance of China agreeing to cooperate… maybe? Depending on how the proposal is presented)

We could use powerful magnetic polarizers to redirect debris towards earth where it can burn up in the atmosphere. Seems like the only way to manage this issue.

Not to mention it could very well impede our ability to spot asteroids coming at us and possibly do something about it before we go the way of the dinosaurs. I've dreamed of leaving and exploring space since I was a small child and the thought of space exploration ending makes me tremendously sad. I don't mean to be a total pessimist, but watching what is going on in the world right now, how we are destroying Earth and each other.... Unless we can all fundamentally start changing our ways right now, maybe it's for the best if we are stuck here and aren't able to take our destructive ways out into the universe.

It is true. I met some dudes from out there at a starbucks. They were here jamming to earth blues and rock. They generously hooked me up with an intergalactic Uber type service. Sadly was a big No Chance. Seems not a single other world will risk accepting earth humans. Well one, but they just listen to flute music only . For over 100k years and going. At least we have best music for whatever time is left.
