The possibilities Astrophotographer and David Malin Awards finalist ‪@MatthewVandeputte‬ can create with long exposure and night sky timelapse will leave you in awe.
"What's so interesting about shooting the sky with long exposures and timelapse photography is that it can show you far more than the human eye can see. My single piece of advice is to go out and shoot. And to go out, and shoot again. You're always learning."

Beautiful video. His advice is sound. It's sad that these days it can be expensive to see the milky way, but it is worth it. And if you shoot astro, the best advice is definitely to go out and shoot and shoot.

So all those star's from our perspective appear to be moving in a spinning motion in varying sized circles? So what are we doing in relationship to all of them? Can we be spinning at the rate of 1,000 m.p.h. while swinging around the sun at 66,600 m.p.h. while being towed by the sun at 450,000 to 550,000 m.p.h. behind a sun traveling at a cool 1,000,000 m.p.h. or does our relation to spinning star's indicate us standing still and everything else moving?

A bit of information for you to think about. Do shooting stars go across the sky all in the same direction? Research for yourself.

Very cool. We live just outside National Park in the US. Our night skies are awesome and I rarely use that word. Going out to capture the Comet. Catch a star if you will. Cheers. Heaps of great friends down under. Fun folks.

@torttumies6762
@torttumies6762 Жыл бұрын
I think those trails aint real :D u’d have to be in north or south pole to capture that kind of trails - also as the stars are spreading, it means you’re moving forward - which is also impossible at that speed. But looks cool tho 👌

I have the same lens on a 60D and I'd recommend something a little wider; maybe the 10-22mm EF-S Canon Pro tip: Use the Tamron focal length comparison tool and a program like stellarium to get an idea of how your sky shots will look with different focal lengths

Yes. I also have a pilots licence and have never seen the earth's curvature, at any altitude. Fact is the horizon always rises to eye level no matter what the altitude. If the earth were a sphere at altitude you would be looking down at it, and you never do. ALWAYS at eye level. That means it is a level plane.

***** Would you like me to send you a picture of my pilots licence? How about I link you? Can I send through this forum? Be glad to in any way shape or form.

I have an Australian licence as I live in Australia. I can post what I like down here. Funny you should talk about navigation. It's called dead reckoning. We still use charts that are strangely flat. I spent 6 years in the Navy and guess what.....the charts are fast too. Never in Ariel or nautical Nav does anyone, anywhere navigate according to the curve of the earth. Did you check out my licence? That shut you up, didn't it. If you didn't find it on Google plus, send me you email or somewhere I can post it for you.

Because by the time the stars rotate around the earth overhead it is daylight here in OZ. Cant be seen. Just like you can't see the southern cross from the north.

He is pointing his camera in to the star that doesn't rotate. It's a application in iPhone, it's called skywiew. U can find that star. It's great, and it's free. Btw u can easily find the Milky Way.
