Personally, I prefer layered armor for my builds. It looks better. It's great against machine guns and autocannons.

I made one of my builds look like a tank. It was very realistic and had an "rpg shield" (Kinda like spaced armor) to protect against rockets, tow, and other explosives. It worked amazing and i added the shield to every build i made. It can be made of a very weak material and it will still do its job of absorbing a few explosions.

Also keep in mind the shape of the armor piece. If you turn it to the side, you'll have more squares that catch the explosion but it will not cover most of your vehicle.

0:50 There's also Stacked Armor. If you lay those doors out flat, then first of all, you get stand-off. The explosion goes off like 5 cubes farther away from your cab. You lose all 3 Van Doors, but against Shotguns, and Machineguns (As they spread out in a burst) this also concentrates your durability across the minimum area. Shots hit the edge, instead of every shot hitting the flat face, it's what we have instead of Sloped armor in Crossout, and part of the reason why the Wedge works so well (From the front) It concentrates the most durability in the minimum cross section. "Fluffy" builds with spaced armor tend to take a lot more damage, because they have such a massive hit-box, and they are harder to maneuver, because they run into things.

Jup im also not a big fan of it, i think its better to have a lighter and faster build. Also with normal armour your build is smaller and thus harder to hit from some distance.

@@benistingray6097 atleast for heavy builds, your heavy build will turn into a little bit of a lighter one when stripped off entirety of the heavy parts.

This was a really great vid, very informative. Could you possibly play with builds that use less common weapons? For example Fortunes first time I saw it was on one of your more recent vids. Another cool build idea would be armored Apcs, those little guys do great damage, but you don't see them much since they are fragile.

Speaking of Fortune's Mr.G. I made a little Fortune showcase Vid about a week ago. It wasn't an in-depth review like your videos, I mostly made it to show off it's damage output and a winning play style. I just wanted to say thank you for inspiring me to produce instead of just consume and I would be honored if you peeped a couple minutes of my video. Thanks for the awesome content my dude! kzfaq.info/get/bejne/iL2Hmq2bz8ylc4E.html

There are a couple of problems with spaced armor. At least I think there are. First, it makes your vehicle a bigger target and easier to get stuck, if you want to armor it on all sides since it is more expensive, you need to add more armor to protect it from all angles. Speaking of protection from all angles top-down attack can be devastating to such builds.

I use mainly leg builds with spaced heavy armor, its like spaced armor but with heavy and tanky parts, so i have no problems with machine guns too! If im not doing that is because im using fatmans, those cannons are tanky af

I dig it. But I think spaced armor builds look junky and I can never bring myself to play with them. Also, there are some advantages to being a bit of a smaller target and fitting into tighter spaces.
