I would not appreciate the big flashing sign, I live on the Costa del sol, I’m right on the ocean and have the beautiful sound of the waves. I have a Beautiful apartment close to everything and fabulous transportation to all parts of Spain. Whilst I have a one bedroom, the cost is so amazing I wouldn’t trade it for the world. I used to live right near Benidorm and I’m so happy to be on the Costa del Sol now. I feel at home here with a great community. Glad you found where you want to live, to each their own🙏

I don't think I could handle that huge neon sign going 24/7, very bright, but great location right downtown!!!!

Happy New Year from Halifax! We are still intrigued by your move to Spain. Thank you for the update and we'll look into Benidorm. Friends are renting in Fuengirola in this Feb/Mar. Did the same last year. Perhaps next year we will join them for a month and rent - check out the area. They love it there.

Fuengirola is a fantastic place as is Benidorm. You will enjoy either place. The Costa del Sol is a bit warmer than the Costa Blanca. Thanks for watching.

Excellent timing and thanks for sharing. You’re right; you can’t beat the location if you don’t mind some life excitement around you. What size of apartment is this and did the contract come with a parking/storage place too? The property doesn’t seem to be in an urbanizacion. You’re also right about the projects in Alicante area; especially in Finestrat and Villajoyosa. I’m more referring to properties for sale. We found a great project that was just started in Villajoyosa and decided to buy a very descent apartment in that project. We’ll be soon putting down some money to reserve and then for the contract. However as we’re still in the States, our agent is helping us with the process. The project will be completed in June 2025; so we’ll definitely be renting a unit until the apartment is ready. More to come on that; and we’ll keep you posted as you mentioned that you’re going to look into buying a place in a couple of years… Thanks again; and keep it up. Yeah the price difference between the two areas is amazing. Much better value when not living on the Costa del Sol

Nice apartment and a good price! I have been also comparing Costa del Sol vs Costa Blanca. I think the latter is much better in many categories, especially affordability. We have been thinking of moving to Torrevieja, as there is an international school nearby. Have you visited this place already and would you recommend it?

Thank you,. I have not been to Torrevieja yet, but it is on our list of potential places to purchase property. I have done a fair bit of research and it looks like a great place to live, we are hoping to visit this year.

@@TheEmptyMiddleSeatTravel Ah nice one! Thinking along the same lines🙂Have you thought about starting a real estate business there? I think there will still be lots of demand from Brits to purchase. I'm desperate to move out of the UK and into Spain, and I'm sure there are many like me. I spoke with several real estate agents in Spain, some really struggle with the English language and the service in general, so that can turn out to be a nice niche although I saw lots of people from Scandinavia already doing this...

The challenge i think is to find the perfect job that gets you paid like you used to in the US, or in my case The Netherlands to pay for this all. Was that an issue for you?

I went on a non lucrative visa, which does not allow you to work in Spain. You must be self-sufficient on that visa.

Thanks. On average it was 85 euros a month

About 15%, but I don't file my first tax return until May of 2024 , so that might change.

It doesn't seem to be as big of a problem as the social media depicts it to be, at least not in Benidorm.
