Back at the reviewing desk with a Spanish Armed Forces Individual Combat Ration. The Spanish have breakfast, lunch , and dinner versions of their NATO approved single meal military ration. I was lucky to be sent this Lunch Menu B5 for review. I love taste testing international MRE's but getting to check this one out was a special treat. The Spanish put together a fantastic ration for their troops. It reminded me of a US MCI with all the cans but the extras were on a whole different level. The food was all solid in the taste department especially the squid which I really enjoyed minus the sand. This was my first time reviewing toothpaste and I've come to the conclusion more rations would benefit from including it.

Of course it's cured jam (Jamón Serrano), it's unconstitutional to have an Spanish MRE without it

No crackers because you get a daily ration of fresh bread. You're supposed the heat up the hot meals in the can. And yes, that's cured ham, one of main foods Spin is known for.

If you like these calamares you can buy these cans in any shop in Spain. Not just squid but pretty much any seafood. Thy are awesomely good.

Thank you so much for the quick and concise showcase. I was getting really tired of youtubers taking a long time to explain the simplest things and trying to be funny by not being able to read what the words in spanish mean

Squids have a "cuttlebone" inside, rather than a skeleton. Dried cuttlebones are used for birds like parrots, parrokeets, etc to provide calcium and allow them to properly wear their beaks.

All the crackers are handed in the morning. Surprise, surprise, with the toothbrush. That is what dumbfound everybody who does not review a full day pack. Eeeeverybody goes "where are the crackers??????" You WERE lucky. I just watched somebody else doing a Spanish ration and they had apple jam for dessert... guess what? Without crackers...

Hope Dub is good! Nice to see this one as lots of Breakfast menus posted recently. Sorry to see the squid though, not my thing. I'm always amazed by what the Spaniards fit into that tiny box.

Nice review! I've got one of these I'm anxious to try! The squid don't look appetizing but I think they'd be really good! Green beans with pork look like a great addition. The only way I cook green beans - slice of bacon boiled with them!

Those fuel tablets lighten way easier if you break them in a few pieces.

For the ham you tasted you should look up spanish jamón. Its one of the most famous things from spanish cuisine

The ham is chewy because it's Spanish "jamón" it's the most expensive type of ham in the world and yes, it's cured. A whole piece if that meat will cost you up to 700 bucks here in Spain and 1000+ if you import it.

I've always wanted to try Iberian Jamon in its true form. I feel like having it in a canned dish wouldn't do it justice.

OMG. Iberian Jam It's the most expensive of the world yes, but no doubt about this MRE's Jamón It's not Iberian or something near to that, It would be probably cheap Jamón Serrano which is made with similar technics of the Iberian but with usual pig races like Duroc but definetly not Iberian pigs.

Nice review. I'm not a big fan of foreign rations but this one did look good. Pretty weird you have toothpaste and no brush and pate but no crackers. At least they included a stove for the tablets. Lol, have a good weekend and keep em coming.

Toothbrush in breakfast ration. Bread substitute comes in its own pack, so the cans dont crush them.

Good Sunday afternoon from the Great State of Texas. I enjoyed this video. I have never seen green beans in a ration, but I like this idea. Did this mre come with eating utensils? This meal needs crackers and I have never had any squid. Not sure I want to try any squid. Have a good day and be safe

Love Spanish rations, hate the squid in its own ink. That is only the 2nd meal, that ever hurt me. Isotonic powder can be done with water, or, put powder in mouth, then take A shot of water. Both ways acceptable. Your squid was not in ink, you lucked out, sort of, LOL. Glad you enjoyed friend. Peace, John. Good meal and review.

How dare you? If you love Spanish rations you have to show your commitment and devotion by eating the squid in its own ink. Tell you what: you are allowed to put on them a dollop of garlic mayo.

Hey question do you have any extra mres or spare mres that you alr reviewed? I’m looking to find a more taste test reviewer that would be willing to send me a mre or a couple to test for the first time I’d really appreciate the chance if able
