I had an embarrassing situation at a restaurant when I asked for a straw for my daughter's juice and google translate translated straw -> paja, the waitress blushed and suggested I use the word "pajita"

El slang es muy local, es la parte que más cuesta entender de otros países hispanohablantes. Creo que algo entenderían, pero no todo. 🤔

@@holamydailyspanish ¡Gracias Lucía! Creo que el slang es muy importante también si hay que aprender un idioma para hablar con amigos hispanohablantes. Por ejemplo, cuando viajé hace un año tuve una oportunidad para practicar mi español con argentinos. Si conocí el slang lo sería mejor... Lo siento que no habia visto tales videos como los suyos
