Good vid. Glad you talk in some of the newer ones as don't always have time to watch - just listen and glance over. @6:52 that looks like a little tumbled down shrine due to openness & flat bottom. The one before that could just be a survey marker from whenever. It's usually prudent to see if your smaller monuments are on USGS Section corners to rule that out. Not sure I buy the tree thing all you UT folks seem to like. Up in Idaho, I've seen how long dates from just the 1950's last, and it is not long. Similar climate.

I think your right about the tumbled down shrine. The trail ends at a monument with a site hole looking across the river (it has been destroyed). I know this sounds dumb, but I have never crossed the river to see what is on the other side. Treasure hunters camped out at the area in the 1960's or 70's (judging from the empty Spam cans they left behind). I've never bothered since I didn't want to do the long hike back to my Jeep all wet from crossing the river. I figured whatever was there, they found. Someday I will return to the area and cross the river, it's just such a pain in the a** spot to get to.

You could use a dowsing rod or know someone who knows how how to use one. They do work, it's not a myth or speculation. You could dowse a map 1st then the site indicated on the map. The Spanish did know how to dowse and did use it during the conquest period. Natives saw this and attempted to foil the Spanish by burying countless false dig sites that only contained a mere token gesture of a "Treasure". Back in the 70's a friend of a person who told him of this process actually tried this in Mexico. He got a hit and dug quite a hole trying to find something, but no luck. So he told his friend who then went out to help him. Bingo! it turned out to be a small clay cup with a few gold items, The the man who dug the pit had missed it and thrown it into the spoils pile. I'm 77 now and wouldn't have typed all this if it wasn't true. The man who actually went to help took some photos of the incident.

Thanks Clint. I plan on doing a video in the near future that shows an easy Spanish Mine to find right next to a forest service road. This way people can visit the old mine and experience the history, without having to go on a long hike.

Basinite, as always my friend, another fascinating video and I appreciate the quality production. I respect your approach with how you've chosen to introduce these hidden/secret sites to your viewers. Based on the commentary, it seems that you may also feel a sense of obligation to protect these locations. You mentioned "deranged treasure hunters" which I found interesting. There are so many questions I have, It's hard to know where to begin. Do you ever anticipate possibly disclosing maps to the multiple sites in your videos? Have you ever attempted to follow the trail markers that lead to the locations?

4 Chan people was able to track down Shia LaBeoufs locations once with the sun's placement, shadows and math etc. Police have done the same in crimes with new software etc too. Using what he's shown so far, cross referenced with Google maps etc I'm sure someone can find all the places shown. I just stumbled across this channel the other day and seen like two videos. They're pretty cool. If you want to keep it secret tho I'd suggest not showing it as much as possible. Maybe just close shots with no stars or sun for reference points maybe at least. I'd hate to see much of the art get destroyed. The treasure stuff is questionable tho. I love a good treasure story like the rest do. So I want to believe. Many of the trees tho shown must have been saplings at best during those times tho I'm afraid. Unless they grow really, really slow there. Anyways fun stuff and cool videos none the less!

BM, thank you for the comment and supporting the channel. I don't disclose locations, too many people destroy these old sites. It's been a problem for many years. I have followed markers to Old Mines before. Rock monuments and tree carvings do lead to old sites/mines. I have seen this first hand.

Only passed the Unitahs on the main highway. Had never heard any of the storys. They looked very dry!

Nope. I-80 passes the north slope and 40 the south. The Provo, Weber and Dechesne all start in the Uintas. The Bear river also starts there: the longest river in N America that doesn’t flow to the ocean.

Thanks Randy. Legend has it there is supposed to be an old Spanish mine from the 1700's in the middle of the "pit". It's now buried under layers of deadfall and sediments.

@@LowBudgetExploration When you are in the Enigma zone and show the stripe of red gravels running vertically down the wall, that would be the ore vein they most likely would have chased. If that's the case, I would suspect the shaft not to be in the middle of the pit but, right up again that cliff face where that vein enters the ground.

The piles of rock's means. The cave was deep. Indians put about 10 to 20 feet of dirt and debris to fill up the entrance.

@@JasonAlexzander1q47 Sorry, I know what your talking about now. I looked around for a bit, but I didn't find anything else too include the remnants of an old fort. I did find two very old pine trees that had been cut down years ago. I'm sure these two pine trees were full of Spanish Carvings and some idiot took them home for a souvenir. These were not cut for fire wood, not at this location, LOL. It is a very interesting place and I'm sure it holds some very old secrets. Someday I would like to return and explore around some more.

Hi Eric and thanks for watching. Australia is beautiful and the people are amazing, I spent a little bit of time in Darwin back when I was in the Navy. I do carry a side arm and occasionally see predators. Even if I don't see the predators, I know they see me. LOL.

Towards the end looks like conglomerate/old river gravels. Is that running on a bank next to a river? It could be where they had a placer mine... ?

You are correct about the geology and this was my observation as well. Lot's of stories about this place, to include bodies of Spaniards being left at the site after being massacred by the Indians.

Good question. The skull is in the video towards the end. The area is rumored to be inhabited by bigfoot and/or evil spirits and creatures. Initially upon finding it, I thought it was a buffalo until I noticed the downward facing horns. I spent hours on Google researching the skull. It is a cow skull, but I don't remember what specific breed. It is very old.

Almost everywhere I go, I go by myself. I move quicker and it's easier to keep things secret. This area I did not dare go by myself. I took my brother and nephew with me. We were armed.

I tend to leave stuff where I find it. I just document and leave in place, this way when/if someone else finds it, they can have the same experience I felt. I'm also a bit superstitious. If an object has an evil attached to it, I don't want to bring that home with me to my family.

I mean do you feel like youre going to be haunted by a roast beef sandwich? Cow skull, roast beef, just a different part of the body... I collect shells and antlers, fossils, feathers, all that stuff.

Right , really cool geology. Yeah, been in crap holes like that, not so fun in the summer. I never really heard tha tSpanish were that far north. I don't think a lot of people know that, well except for Coronado, and Domingez and a few others. Not enough to take time to mine anything. They were all looking for the seven citys of gold. Turns out that was all in Central and South Ameirca.
