A better translation is: I am “missing” my black shirt. I am “missing” my swim suit. Both mean that you couldn’t find them. Or if you don’t to make it reflexive you could just say: My black shirt is missing, but this sounds like you are not looking for it and it’s not going to be found. “I am missing” sounds like you are trying to figure out where it is.

Me gusta lo que estás haciendo porque cuando aprendemos un nuevo verbo solo luego aprendemos esta palabra tiene más significas que justo uno. Eso es confudiendo cuando estamos empezando aprender español. También, es difícil saber cómo usar estas nuevas aplicaciones de la palabra. Gracias, Andrea.

Me falta mi vestido de bano etc. Me falta en este ejemplo es en ingles usaria "Missing" I'm missing my swimming suit. Tambien Me falto el trabajo porque no me senti bien. I missed work yesterday because I wasn't feeling well.

Hi Jay! You could if you word it correctly. In this case, it would be either Marta perdió su vestido de baño OR A Marta le falta su vestido de baño. In the first sentence, Marta lost her bathing suit, and in the second one the bathing suit is missing. Just different approaches to the same situation :)

One that confused me is hacer falta. Like it can be "no hace falta", "it isn't missing". My girlfriend will often text me, "me haces falta", as to say "hey, I miss you". All the other ones seem very straightforward but then hacer falta to me seems like it's all pretty contextual sometimes.

Hi! Yes, I know what you mean. Some expressions can't be translated word by word. You just have to learn them. 'Hacer falta' is one of them :)

"Faltan" es para el plural en el presente. Y "faltaron" es para el plural en el pasado.

Faltaron is the 3rd person plural of the preterite verb tense. The preterite is one of the two past tenses in spanish (preterite and imperfect)

¿"deje" en el pretérito no lleva acento? (@4:43 y varios otros minutos) (tambien @ 4:58 "compre" ¿no debe ser "compré"? ¿y "olvidé") (Y @6:07 faltó) (y @6:57 "¿Quiénes") (y @7:26 "falté") (y @10:43 "quién") Gracias por sus videos, pero le recomiendo que prestes más atención a los acentos, para que sea buen ejemplo a nosotros estudiantes. How would this be translated? Faltan 200 dólares por la campaña de caridad. 1) $200 are still needed for the charity drive. (in order to make the goal) 2) $200 are missing from the charity drive. (stolen)

La frase "eso es falta!" Significa "that's wrong" or "you're not supposed to do that!" sí?

Hi! It's more like "that's bad", but you could say "that's wrong" depending on context.

"Eso es falta" sounds very rare, a native speaker will never say that. "That's wrong" can be translated as "Eso está mal".

how about "hace falta" in the sense of necesitar -- like no haces falta esta camisa, you don't need that shirt - I see the phrase hacer falta pretty frequently I think?

Puede usar "faltar" para sintomas del patiente? Por ejemplo "tiene falta de respiracion?" Do you have shortness of breath? Is this correct terminology or how would I phrase it more correctly? Thanks!!
