Anatomy of a Fighter

Anatomy of a Fighter

6 жыл бұрын

The Blackzilians Days: I been to a lot of gyms thus far in my journey to build this AOF brand and I can honestly say, that I have never ever seen two fighters go at it like Kamaru Usman & Michael Johnson. Witnessing those two go at it, is better than watching a fight live.

The way MJ landed that 3 punch combination after slipping Usman's straight right at the end was clean. Crazy how he has beaten Tony, Barboza and Poirier. Just shows how much one loss can set you back. Zero shame in losing to Khabib at this point and If Gaethje wasn't such a savage, MJ would have KO'd him in the first. If he stays at 45 I want to see him fight Cub Swanson. Nothing but hands flying all over the place

MJ has explosive power & speed, along w great hands, but needs cardio and may also need to do some strength training. This will also give him more explosive power. He's obviously working w some great wrestlers, but it looks like always gets manhandled on the ground like in this video ala Khabib or Elkins. For this he may need to go back up to 155.

Chris, I think Randy Couture was the first proponent of this style, along w Mark Coleman & Kerr. It's frustrating & demoralizing as hell to your opponent, who just finds himself in a hopeless situation. Of course it helps big time if you're juiced to the Gills like the last 2. The original G&Pers didn't have the submissions of the BJJ guys, so punching, kneeing, head butting & elbowing were their "submissions".

Training. Listen to Usman encouraging him while he's on top @2:40 Usman's crushing Mike BUT coaching him on how to get out of the position at the same time AND w/o giving up the position or bailing to give Mike an easy way out. The reality is this level of ground and pound training helps you realize why as a striker, you have to keep your ground game sharp 'cause if you don't, you'll get MAULED. Really puts a spot light on where cardio is most important too. GREAT JOB to both fighters!

MJ's combos in counter are so awesome...i always feel sorry to see him down against the cage though...fuck he has carved up some fighters...it's only the real hard arses like Diaz, Gaehtje and Khabib who have made him seem like he isnt a straight up hard cunt. Respect, thanks again for these amazing uploads, your channel is the shit!

Crazy how good Usman wrestling and G&P is. I’ve seen it before but damn he’s actually better then what he looks like on fight day. Still got Burns winning by Submission but I can see Usman will not give more then 1 or 2 windows for that chance to happen. Elite fighter for sure

Men Michael Johnson is wild. Sparring Usman at that phase is crazy and he is doing it so simple. And then taking him down and keeping him down is even crazier. He is really strong for his weight if you tell me.

1:27 Usman feints 2 times, MJ drops to guard defend. Kamaru learns the pattern and uppercuts him on the 3rd feint. Very calculated
