Great video, thanks for all the shared info. I happen to have a SOMI-1 that is a bluetooth sensor that sends MIDI though a host. It's really small and wireless and would be a great head tracker. My only caveat with this setup is that the head movement parameters on the modified Master Bus device are not MIDI mappable. Do you think you can propose it to the developer? I'll try to convert MIDI to OSC though, but that's extra steps. Thanks!!

Very interesting. What is your experience with the Somi-1? Does it drift a lot?

@@michaelgwagner I haven't had any drift issues with it so far. However is not that crucial for my use case (expressive MIDI controller), so I can't be certain it won't drift as head tracker. I'll try to convert the MIDI channel to whatever OSC the modded device listens to and try it. MIDI mapping would be ideal in this case though. Do you know the OSC message format for the head tracking?

The OSC format depends on the tracker and/or software, there is no standard out there. You can use Cockos OSCIIbot to convert Midi into OSC.

Hey Mike! I just started experimenting with Envelop using latest version of Live 11. Almost everything works fine but I cannot monitor in realtime what's going on with the source panner parameters that's linked to LFOs. I use the updated E4L Master Bus' record function to record an .AIFF file (I'm on a MAC) and the output comes out OK with all the movements recorded. But my problem is monitoring through headphones with Binaural 2D decoding selected. Will be glad if you know what's the problem. Thanks in advance!

Try a different decoder. I don’t know why but it sometimes does not want to decode. Switching to a different decoder usually helps.

you had issues with E4L master bus M1 -- Ableton 11 ?

You need to run Ableton under Rosetta. The M1 native version will not work with E4L.

Hallo Michael, unfortunately Envelop for Live doesn't run on Apple Silicon :( but great video nevertheless

You have to run Ableton in Rosetta mode. Not as snappy as native but works ok.
