i like these older Spawn figures the detail n paint is amazing n weapons n chains if he brought them back n made them fully articulated i would pay a premium for them

Not too many Spawn reviewers out there. I have a huge collection Spawn figures going back to Series 1 to 30, most of them still un-opened.

i have the three color tops but i didnt like the statue ones but commando spawn was always my favorite from this series

At the price point mass market, collectible action figures are sold at, you can almost guarantee that one of two aspects of each figure will suffer for the other. Want excellent articulation? Expect weak paint apps and minimal sculpt variation. Want excellent sculpt and paint apps? Expect limited articulation. If you want both, learn how to be patient and get your pre orders in for the import lines. Also, don't expect much variance in the character selection. Domestic companies have taken shots at competing with the likes of Mezco, Mafex, Revoltech, Figuarts, etc, but they generally don't get much traction. Black Series had the Hyperreal Darth Vader and Luke Skywalker. DC Direct had the Prime Batman. As far as I know, these didn't get over very well. While we know there won't be anymore DC Direct, I'm pretty certain Hyperreal is done. I'd really like to see Hasbro take another shot with Marvel Legends. They do the Fan Channel exclusives that are basically repaints, targeted at collectors and adults. I'd like to see Hasbro introduce maybe a couple times a year, a Fan Channel exclusive that is obviously adult themed. It could feature characters like Goblin Queen with all her plunging neckline glory. Captain Marvel in her belly window suit. For the ladies, a two pack of Steve Rogers and Sam Wilson in sparring gear and gym accessories. Upgrade the materials and paint, number the sets and sell them at comparable prices to imports. I'd buy the hell out of adult leaning action figure sets aimed like this at collectors instead of kids and the toy aisle.

The one on the hollow base is way too fragile, the wrist holding the pistol broke off for many people including me. Got my kickstarter spawn last week, need to clear space on the shelf for it, looks amazing even in the box

I got the first spawn but never found commando. Part of me wishes I had gotten the hamburger head version when it was 50% off at the TRU clearance sales. Its great as fodder to make a custom ML spawn

I gotta ask what led you to expect there to be more articulation. The vast majority of Spawn figures, and McF figures as a whole, from about 2000 (though some started to appear in 99) until the introduction the Halo figures and Guitar Hero figures in 2008, had virtually no articulation at all, Viking and Samurai series not withstanding. And even then it was mainly the smaller scale figures that had articulation. The larger figures more or less didn't get additional articulation back until the last couple years.
