You might recognize universal signs of happiness or anger, but how do you describe the expression on someone’s face in English?
What exactly is happening with the eyebrows, eyes, mouth, and chin?
In conversation and in writing, knowing how to describe facial expressions in English can help you create a visual image in someone’s mind.
For example, when someone smiles is it always a happy smile? Or is it simply a polite smile? How would you describe that?
Similarly, how do you know someone feels disappointed? How does someone’s facial expression tell you?
In this Confident English lesson, you’ll learn 14 Ways to Describe Facial Expressions in English with the eyebrows, eyes, mouth, and chin.
After you watch, share your comments and questions in the lesson on the Speak Confident English website: www.speakconfidentenglish.com...

Annemarie, you are a psychologist of life. If communicating is beyond words, if we associate our observation with facial gestures, it would facilitate understanding, as stress is our limiting factor.
