Thanks so much, Rocky. This has been so much fun to play with over the past couple of weeks. I've been using it to listen to the Anuel documentary because understanding real PR spanish is my goal. My Dad and cousins are from there and I never learned here in the states. I have some good friends here from Santa Isabel and they all talk exactly like everyone in the documentary lol. I've tried several times to learn Spanish before in my life but these friends really got me reconnected to that part of my heritage and I've been more serious than ever learning the language. I love your classes. I'll buy every one that comes out. I try to immerse myself in the language as much as possible, reading, tv, talking to latino friends, music, even going to Spanish Mass. Also, following along a recipe for something (This week was "Como hacer quesitos boricuas") is very fun and interactive way to consume. I'm a cook and have been looking for a new job that would have latino staff so I could hear it all day. It's been about a year and some change since i've been serious about it and I definitely absorbed a ton of it. I dream of maybe learning it well enough to get a job helping latino teens in the rough neighborhoods of our city. Or helping adults assimilate when they come to the states. With even my poor spanish, I've helped friends a few times with job applications, driving documents and the like and it was a very fulfilling experience. (This was after a trip to a completely Dominican Supermarket in a Latino neighborhood near me. I was amazed how afraid and helpless I felt because I didn't speak spanish, and it gave me tremendous perspective of how Latinos may feel when they come to the states) There are wonderful organizations here to help those types but all the applications require being bilingual. I'll get there. By the way, I want to share a great hack for new words or phrases you learn: write them with a dry erase marker on your bathroom mirror. You will see it at least twice a day. God bless you for all your hard work. Your content is fantastic.

Too bad this doesn’t work on iPhone only on computer. Another thing I do with YT is watch the news in English so I sorta know what’s going on. Then I switch to a Spanish news channel on YT usually has pretty correct Spanish subtitles. I can hear and see the Spanish words and try to comprehend what they are saying because I already have some idea what they will be talking about. Hope this helps.

Hey Rocky. I was wondering after you get a solid foundation I was wondering how you might go about seeing/defining goals so you see know are progressing? I'm trying to achieve native or near native fluency as my wife is from Mexico and I live in a part of the country that Spanish is highly beneficial. I realize that this a marathon and not a sprint.

Hey Andrew, great question. There are a few things you can do. One thing is that you can lengthen the content and see if you can still follow it. So instead of 10 minute videos, listen to hour long podcasts. Another thing is listen to more challenging content. Instead of watching a vlogger in Spanish maybe watch a documentary.

Hi Rocky. Quick question. I'm at maybe the advanced beginner or beginning intermediate level. Where is your Spanish accent from? It doesn't sound to me like Spanish from Mexico or Spain, but I don't really know other accents beyond that. Thanks!

I'm thinking about learning spanish to become an interpreter (maybe even medical as i am a nurse). Do you think this is an achievable goal for a 35 year old? How long before I would be fluent enough to interpreter? I'm willing and eager to put in lots of time but I just have no idea if this is a feasible goal at this point in my life.

I downloaded Language Reactor; however, it is not showing the LR when I open a KZfaq video to get the translation or translation. Do you know why that is? I have uninstalled and reinstalled several times with no success. I really would like to use LR for KZfaq. By the way, I purchased your course yesterday, I'm so excited to learn your methods in this journey of speaking Spanish Faster :-). I look forward to your feedback.
