Hey Jacob, so the color is not always based off the age of the fish , it's more the color changing chromatophores that reside within the skin of the fish, changing it to what best suits it 👍

So your saying it is like a octopus it can change color / pattern at will but it only has basically three different patterns the small dots and the gag grouper pattern but more definitive shapes and a solid dark color ? @@slinginsteel100 Cool ! I caught a grouper on hook and line that was around 80# and it's markings and color looked like a golith but it's tail was not rounded like a golith but straight across like a gag and it was fat like a black any idea what it was ?

@@tlpoutdoorsman yes I often switch to 100 percent o2 when in under less than 1atm , but not always. I usually conservative it as much as I can, with normal air the deco is longer and less sufficient though

@@slinginsteel100 Ya, I would hang a tank filled with enriched air or pure O2 and a regulator off the back of the boat for an extended deco stop. Is that what you do?

Not all of us have the same moral compass mate. Besides from reading other comments it looks like this done to sell...in other words it's his job. While I agree it seems like an unfair advantage it's better than scooping up have the ocean to get your target fish! It also sounds like he free dives for fun in his free time not using tanks which is more in line with the sporting side of spearfishing.

its why speargun diving with a tank is illegal in many places as they hit tamer, larger species like groupers hard.
