Spearfishing Fiji Kadavu - Spearfishing The Outer Reef
In the fifth episode and final episode of the Kadavu trip, we are spearfishing the outside reef hoping the big fish have started to return after this tsunami.
Spearfishing my first Maori Sea Perch and smacking a few other tasty reef species.

All fish were of legal size and were speared for consumption. I abide by catch size limits, daily takes, and no fish zones. Over the past 5 years now I have made the commitment to no longer buy fish, so I only eat the fish I catch.
Spearfishing is the most sustainable form of fishing on the planet, it is also the most environmentally friendly form of fishing.

Documenting fishing is great... but recording the people singing from a village from an island in the pacific is something not to take for granted. That singing moment was Epic. That is history!!

I dont take anything in this life from granted especially not the kindness and teachings from others. Money cannot buy the types of friendships and experience ive had and im grateful to not just the people of Vacalea but to the people of Fiji for the kindness and hospitality that has been shown and letting me experience and take part in their culture and way of life 🤙🏼

it's really sad how badly all the reefs were bleached by radiation and a lack of atmosphere. These places used to look like a weave of rainbows when I was a young teen....that was 35 years ago so much damage in such a short space of time it is really sadly quite incredible.

Gutted to hear that :( yeah ive seen the impacts on these reefs in my lifetime too hopefully things will start to improve again
