Interesting Fact: The Wartime Peace Preservation Act, Presidential Order 6609 (mentioned by Lena in EP2) is a reference to US Executive Order 9066, issued in 1942 by FDR, and was the act that resulted in the Japanese Internment Camps during WWII.

Guys, please ALWAYS check if there's something after the ending, this anime tends to use the ending as a way to divide the episodes between Shin's pov and Lena's pov, so if you skip right to the next ep you can miss something

Dont drop this anime. Keep watching it. Although you wont really get so much view for this series cause its not one of those overrated shows. But its way better than most of those overrated shows out there. Its actually what you'd call a hidden gem. Its a beautifully executed series. You’ll enjoy it.....

I heard this anime from a few videos and KZfaq comments and I decided to watch it. It did not disappoint it felt like my eyes got opened. The show is beautiful. Its something that I cant explain with words to say how good it is.

This anime sure is a hidden gem, you will learn the reasons for many things that happen through out the episodes like why shin shoots people ( his comrades) when they are on the edge of life

I'm telling you,the amount of unfairness in this show makes you wanna punch your screen And that's the reason some moments make you cry tears of joy for the characters,this is a very very dark show Being "gory" isn't dark,the things few characters go through is just tragic

I thought I knew what they’d gone through. But after I read the LN,I found out that the suffering they had gone through was way beyond my imagination. This anime is one of my favorite anime in recent years. Enjoy it.

One of the biggest reasons why part 1 of S1 was mostly only vol 1 of the LN series is how they kept doing the dual perspectives between Shin and Lena. Another reason was the anime original content, such as the classroom scene in this episode. That did not exist at all in the LN, but it was a perfect summary of how the 86 became the outcasts they are. One example of how the outstanding production of this series.

Dang. It has looked like Brian was talking during a few hey moments and missed some of the wilder dialogue that is supposed to entice the audience. There are so many details and words used that hint at deeper layers of the story.
