Jesus said to them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, before Abraham was, I am.” (John 8:58 ESV) I am the door. If anyone enters by me, he will be saved and will go in and out and find pasture. (John 10:9 ESV) I AM, comes from the Greek word εἰμί [eimi /i·mee/] that means 1 to be, to exist, to happen, to be present. James Strong, Enhanced Strong’s Lexicon (Woodside Bible Fellowship, 1995). I AM DOES NOT HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH EXALTING OR PROMOTING OURSELVES BUT WITH THE ETERNAL PRESENCE OF GOD, A GOD WHO HAS ALWAYS EXISTED AND WILL EXIST.
