For future viewers, you want to tighten the upper shock bolt last. The extension should be tightened first prior to install (as shown), then the side with the four spacers, and finally the upper shock bolt.

It should make the wheelbase a bit longer when you put it in the slack position because the head angle is going to move the front wheel out a little

Hey William, The Stumpjumper didn't get a flip chip until the 2019 models were released.

So long as you upgrade your shock extension, it will work with your monarch.

The extension is listed as Specialized part # S176300001. But I would confirm with your Specialized dealer that it will, in fact, enable you to use the flip chip.
