How about adding a right angle bracket to back wall and under the bottom center of shelf. Like in a food pantry.

#6 is simply aluminum C channel that is available at Home Depot in lots of different sizes for different shelves. I use them on lots of different shelves, supporting heavy items.

Great video! Option #3 - rather than perpendicular to the back, the supports could be stacked vertically and flat against the back.

I used coffee table books as center brace. Bought them in thrift stores. Painted or recovered or replaced the bindings on some. But most part they were all in great condition. Lowest shelves I put the paperback books in stacks that act like a foundation about 3 deep also have used the paperbacks in horizontal positions spines facing out to make pillars. I should be ashamed I have about 14000 books a lot in storage. I also have about 30k on line. We are building a big house, Barn, smokehouse, workshop large equipment garage and I will have a large she shed on it for my crafting and my books. SIL and I designed it as workshop/guest house. It will have 2 bedrooms, kitchen, living/dinning bathroom and laundry. So when my time comes they can use it as a rental for extra income. One of bedrooms will be my library. But still have Murphy bed in it for guests. Building going to be 25 feet wide 40 feet length and he is adding a carport to the side so I can work outside with items like clay or spray paint. This he p/and to make 15 feet by 20. It will be drive through with full outer wall. Eventually he will add garage doors on both ends or barn doors. Yeah sounds like in law cottage but son in law and daughter will not let me live in it. They putting 2 way intercom in so they can come help in and out of main house. Plus a panic button system. He is also soundproofing it too so I can work in it and make noise late at night. He is putting covered front porch he wants to put sliders on so I can use it as a painting studio or greenhouse. Where my main crafting area will be is between the kitchen dining area and bedrooms area it will be 10 by 25 room. Later they can make it into a master bedroom and add a larger bathroom or just leave it for game room. Only they will have to remove all my crafting stations. My son in law bought 100 acres. He plans on having a couple horses 4 cows, goats, sheep, pigs and large garden. Basically self reliant off grid place.

Just in time to help me with a current "issue"... Let's not talk about the fact that I probably should have designed them better... retrospectively I see that NOW!!!... but I thought those Hangman stiffeners would do the trick... I measured my shelves they're over 4' almost 5' so that product isn't long enough. Hey, they're pretty good 3/4 plywood and I've even added back supports, but that's not good enough! NOooo they want to sag in the front too, grrrr.... so I need to try one of your other options. Thanks, Great Video!

Put rubber lenses on a dresser, than add a decent shelf board from the tool store. Then put a heavy quadrophonic receiver on the left or rigt.
