I would put an eye screw on top of the fenders and throw a ratchet strap over the plywood, or use the 2x4 upright idea fron the magazine with the big tires. Very cool project.👍👍

Combine the magazine solution with you last one and that would make the best mover. Locking in the plywood and having the handle would help you get it over small bumps or steps.

If the top of the tall self standing version had a perpendicular 8 to 10 inch cross piece attached maybe half lapped glued and screwed then a handle could be added parallel to the floor making it easy you pickup if needed.

That sounds like it might work, good thinking

Add great ideas - maybe on the last one (for grass) make the insides sloped so the plywood will be guided down to the grove easier.

That last build would be good if you had a clamp designed into it to clamp on to the plywood to keep it from slipping. Considering rough construction terrain, a clamp would be necessary for bumps, rocks, clumps of hard dirt etc to keep the plywood from shifting off or off balance. But with a clamping device I believe that would be a winner

I find the single handle with 2 friction plates that pinches the top of a board gets over most of the bulk problems of sheet goods, and also. Helps with lifting it onto the bench. I do have a 6throw block and tackle beside the bench for the really heavy pieces

I just purchased one of the top lift versions and plan to show it off in another video. Thank you for letting me know it works well.

You could also, screw a couple blocks of wood to the frisbee. Or even a wooden U frame like on your homemade plywood dolly! Screw something like that to the frisbee! I haven't tried any of this. I just watched your video. Thought about it, and shared! Anyhow, have a good one. Also, great video as usual my friend! Until next time!

Thank you Brent. And the wood attached to the frisbee is a great idea! That never even crossed my mind.

I liked number four. I thought if the handles were turned it might help to lift it onto a work surface.

Your last option is great. To solve the problem of going over bump to get back on the concrete, add the locking feature. You can roll up to the bump. lift the back and walk sideways enough to give the tires a purchase on the concrete and the lower the back and away you go.

I’ve used a harbor freight mechanics creeper for plywood, mattresses, box springs, etc. works out pretty well!

Wheel across the grass: add a clamp of some sort so that at the shed ledge you can lift the system over that ledge. Wound a wedge with sandpaper on both sides work? Wedge between the plywood and wheel covers?
@SpecificLove7
@SpecificLove7 Жыл бұрын
A wedge might work, I guess it just depends on how you would design it.

All impressive but love the simplicity of the frisbee. Thinking I could use that for other purposes in the house across carpet (?).

I think if you took your idea (5) crossed over with the idea 4 with the vertical beam and small latch on top you would have a winner. Then to stop the movement yes add rubber or sandpaper. That would be perfect for most situations. Love your videos keep them up!

Thank you Paul, that combination would probably be a winner

You had good ideas up in Michigan they had a drywall mover worked great for plywood also a handle with a flat part on the bottom walk up lift put handle under and lift. Easy to use easy to store, has multiple uses. Can't find it here in Florida. Worked great...

On #2, chamfer the slot so ply finds slot easier. Use frisbee with #2 or #5 All great ideas that are easy to build. Thanks.

I use a homemade j hook arrangement made of plywood to carry full sheets. If I'm not feeling up to it I just call my son-in-law! No grandchildren yet 😎

If you could add a closable “gate” to the end of #5, you could use it more like a wheelbarrow. For example, if you’d been able to back out the plywood just enough to close off the end, then push it again, it might be able to hop up into your shop.

Most plywood isnt being moved around inside a shop, most is on rough construction site terrain. I bought a Gator Lift to carry a sheet at a time.

Build a small ramp for going in and out of the garage.

Easier said than done with certain rollup doors!! You have to leave a gap between ramp and shop floor for the door.

I don't have to move plywood very far. But hand truck works if moving across the yard. I have the moving dolly as well. It doesn't work for me because it has mind of its own and doesn't go where I want.
@davidkugler1376

Most hand trucks are rather narrow for use with full size sheets of plywood.

Hey, with #5, if you put a lip on the front and put the corner of the plywood into it like you did with the Frisbee, would you be able to run it over the 1.5" curb? I know it won't help with the weight like having it in the middle, just a thought.
@SpecificLove7

I wonder if design 2 could be improved by adding a radius onto the top edges. That might help prevent it binding like that.
@SpecificLove7

Moving sheet goods at my age is a constant hassle. I have spent probably five hundred on commercial jigs for moving that work fairly well some like what you proposed. The last one looks good. Could you put some kind of screw mechanism to tighten up on the plywood to also hep keep from moving. Would two of them be overkill.
@SpecificLove7
@SpecificLove7 Жыл бұрын
I'm not sure about the screw mechanism but if you use two of the dollies then it would be a little bit harder to turn because they only want to go in one direction.
