@@gicr12"If you look at kill:loss ratios across all users, the MiG-29 has apparently accumulated 6 air-to-air kills, but has been shot down 18 times by other fighters and once by surface-to-air weapons. In comparison, the F-16 has only been shot down once in air-to-air combat, but has shot down around 80 aircraft." "Six MiG-29s were shot down during the NATO intervention in the Kosovo War, three by USAF F-15s, one by a USAF F-16, and one by a Royal Netherlands Air Force F-16." Syria did claim to shoot down 6 F16s but that was later proven to just be one. That was by ground based air defense though. Also the f16 was introduced 5 years before the Mig29 with the first flight being 3 years before the mig29. It's an older plane.

@@arttafil6792 Must've been fun, lucky you... You retired with the F4 or moved to the Tomcat?
@arttafil67924 жыл бұрын
Deepal Perera, No, I didn’t retire. My combat flight career was cut short by a bad ejection from an F4. I was at Iwakuni Japan Marine Corps Air Station in 68 and took an F4 up on a test flight after it had two new J-79’s installed. These were the newer J-79 GE15 engines, less smoke and 500 pounds per engine more thrust. The flight went well until we were inbound for a TACAN 1 penetration and approach. We were over station at FL300 and in the cone of silence when both engines did a total flameout! The rest is history. We never got even a partial air start and at 3,000 feet with me in the rear cockpit as a training pilot, I command ejected us. My canopy misfired as well as the rocket pack of my Martin-Baker MK 5 ejection seat. I blasted through the rear canopy that I tore loose. I guess the canopy said, well if you want me along, I’ll just kick your ass! It did. We landed in the inland sea about a mile East of station. I was busted up pretty bad with my left collar bone fractured in 3 places, 3 broken ribs, 3 cracked ribs, a fractured left knee, broken nose , cracked teeth, a broken left index finger, and a partridge in a pear tree!! I watched Marine Corps VMFA323 F4 Bn 151410 smash into the inland sea at about 350+ knots and designate, let me tell you what, in January, the inland sea is about the same as being in Lake Michigan in January! I wasn’t there but for only 15 minutes but damn, I was cold! I was never able to return to combat flight status. I was sent back to the States and retrained as an Air Traffic Control Officer. I was sent back to MCAS Iwakuni, Japan as the control tower OIC. How ironic.

The Mig 35 is the name to be use only for Russian Air Force and it carries All the Latest Avionics, Technology and Weaponries. All export version would be name as Mig 29M. But there is so called "Advanced Mig 29M". This carries the latest avionics too, but NOT ALL as compared to Mig 35. Of course Mig Corporation will not share the most advanced ones to other countries. @glennroberts4612 жыл бұрын
I wish I had video of a similar takeoff I watched. After completing his day at an OLF, a Navy instructor pilot took off in his T34. Halfway down the runway it started a slight downward direction. Right at the point on the takeoff roll the pilot pull up his gear. No rotate, just pull up the gear. Then at the end of the runway he makes a 90-degree pitch up climb to about 1000 feet, then a 90-degree pitch down to level. Now that's a takeoff I will never forget.

@@rorymac7179 And The Battle of England? And many other battles in which Polish pilots decided about winning? Poles have a natural ability to fly airplanes and have proved it many times. Also in recent actions in the Middle East. The size is demonstrated not only by equipment or budget, but above all by skills. And anyway, we will soon receive the first delivery of the new F-35 from the United States, so sorry, the Jews will never catch up with Poles! 💪❤️🇵🇱

Okay I'm gonna be that guy. To be more specific, the take off wasn't vertical, once the wheels leave the tarmac you've taken off. The climb out was vertical. Examples of a vertical take off would be a helicopter with skids, or those old harrier jets. Sorry, i couldn't help it. 😀

Who helped England win the air war with Germany? The US. Sure the Pols were there but they helped about as much as the Belgians did. Poland fell quickly to the blitzkrieg, and with out the US sending weapons fuel supplies and food, and airplanes, there wasn't much that would have kept GB from sinking to the tide of Nazi Germany. I am not discounting that the Pols did good work with the RAF but don't forget, there were also American pilots flying with the RAF as well.
@generalkenobi51734 жыл бұрын
@@ImpendingJoker it was proven the germans couldn't invade he u.k the u.k's navy was just too powerful and the spitfire just too good it was a combination of factors. Food and fuel yes but for planes the british did build majority of their aircraft. Same thing for most of their weopons.

Yeah, what I saw was a conventional take off with an unrestricted climb. The plane was not traveling vertically when the wheels left the ground, it was traveling horizontally. To take off vertically the Mig 29 would have to have vectored thrust like the Yak 38 or 141, which are vertical take off aircraft!
