This guy is a master teacher. After hearing a thousand bar bands screw this song up, so refreshing to see perfection in Page cloning. Slow and repeat ... till the genius is actually revealed, note by frickin note. Perfect timing. Best Zeppelin lesson on YT!

SW@@SpedSpedding Bro you are makin me return the clock back to the early years of my playing. Your explanation on how to play the tune proper is spot on mate. I am revisiting old Zep and Aerosmith, as they were my first bands to play covers at the pub or a party house that we set up and built a stage on the HUGE land owned by this wild ass dude who threw keg parties all summer and we had bands play there every time, including my first band. you are a GREAT teacher Sped, keep em comin brother!!!!

Sped ,I have seen footage odf Jimmy live , playing Black Dog.In the main riff he never hits the B string ,rather he slides up a whole step on the G string and does a hammer/pull off ,then descends down to the 5th and 7th strings to finish up the main riff. No disrespect, and it is not even important, I am just throwin it out there for your blessing Aped. You are the Zoso master, so it might meet with approval ,or not. Cheers man! And the worbble on the 4th fret bent to the A is awsome, never noticed that!! You ARE a cheeky lad! This lesson has to be the most thorough and comprehensive lesson on ANY song or ANY lesson on You Tube. You put your heart and soul into this ,and I bet your students are quite happy with you being their teacher!!

Jimmy used the "Middle Pickup Position" for Black Dog on 'TSRTS as he does on Rock and Roll, Whole Lotta Love. Tea for One, Stairway Live Solo, The Ocean Solo etc.. The Middle Position was Jimmys main sound live...

By far the best teacher in my opinion for electric guitar, especially for Led Zeppelin tunes! I love his specificity, and how he brings about his own touch to some of the riffs. His Patreon has been a godsend due to the wonderful tabs he provides. He makes learning guitar fun, but also Sped is such a great teacher that he’s really boosted my confidence in my play.

I once read in an interview with John Paul Jones that when Jimmy played the chord progression to him for this song, his first comment was “there’s no way you’re going to be able to write a solo over that” and then he played it for him, to which JPJ said that’s F’n Brilliant. And it was and is, and I would have never really thought I could pull it off, that is until I watched this, just incredible the way you teach!

I met Jimmy Page once. Pure luck. I told him how much his music, especially ‘Ramble On’ meant to me. He was amazingly gracious. The same man who helped define classic rock swagger. It’s great to see that in this lesson you are explaining very precisely and helpfully so many crucial nuances, then playing the complete sections of the song with belt and drive. JP would surely approve! I’d love to know how you'd get live the tone you’re getting in your studio. It’s superb. Thank you for a brilliant video. Maybe ‘Since I’ve Been Loving You’ soon?

You are really good and a pleasure to listen to. I was in London last summer on my honeymoon and would have loved to jam with you. I sing Zeppelin in my spare time among other artists and singing with your talent on the guitar would be a trip. Anyway please keep up your great lessons and who knows, maybe we shall eventually meet.
