Top end speed, or absolute speed, is important to get right for rugby.
This video covers an example max velocity session for rugby.
🏉 Absolute speed might not be seen as often as accelerations within a rugby game, though it’s just as important when considering overall rugby speed; both for performance and an injury prevention perspective.

🏉 S E S S I O N - D E T A I L S
👉 Wall Series | 3 x 3 e/side (3 turn overs per rep)
👉 Pogos | 3 x 10m (Walk back recovery)
👉 A - Runs (step over) | 3 x 22m (walk back recovery)
👉 Straight Leg Bounds | 3 x 40m (build up speed slowly, walk back recovery)
👉 Flying Starts | 3 x 22m build ups (to opposite 22m)
👉 Rugby Specific Drill
