If I had to choose one shred guitar method to learn first, it would be speed picking.
In this lesson, I'm going to show how to make speed picking almost effortless so that you can start shredding up and down the neck.

What a simple yet highly effective lesson. Amon Amarth has lots of riffs and melodies where this could be put to practice early on. 🤘🏼

Awesome video! I subbed to your email list for the free practice guide. The only thing I have a problem with is the superfast solo shreds. The moderate speed ones I'm good with. Awesome video, thanks. Have you ever done a video on pull offs, hammer ons & vibratos? Or on any of the three? If so, could you please, please pass on the link? I’d be eternally grateful. Just start with something low like 120 and build up

I used a Dunlop nylon .94mm for about 30 years, I'm a hard "digging" picker so the rounder edge was good for my style but I could never pick really fast because the pick would get hung up on the strings. I switched to a Jazz 3 XL about 3 years ago and my speed increased quite a bit and forced me to stop the digging in because of the pointy tip, I still prefer the rounder edge because I played so long with it but when I try one of my .94 round edge picks I go back to my old way of picking and it slows down, I know you use thinish picks so my questions are...Do you use the rounded edge picks or the pointy ones? How much of the pick sticks out between your thumb and the tip?

I've been playing guitar everyday since November 2022 (Rythm) I've learned all barre chords powerchords and those normal chords at the top of the guitar but i just can't make a metal song with powerchords that isn't a 4 chord progression it's kinda stressing me out. I really love glam metal grunge rock but maybe playing metal isn't for me which hurts but maybe thats just how it is 😭. Anyone got any advice??
