I was fighting an issue with my 98 TJ. It was sputting and falling on its face on the freeway. I messed with it for 2 years and finally diagnosed it to an engine wiring harness. I couldn't find one anywhere to replace it. I ended up buying an early 97 harness and the harness went around the motor and all of the way back to the speed sensor. The harness was exactly the same minus the cruise control. But 20 of the the pigtails were different. I cut each one off 0f my 98 haness and soldered them to my 97 harness. In the end everything worked and I even passed emissions. , but I just wanted to reiterate that ealry 97 TJ's have a one off harness. Meaning that they changed the harness for 97 and then changed it again to the same 98 harness in mid 97. It was a hard lesson to learn. It looks like you have an early 97 there. I love how clean your 97 is.

Thanks for that information! Yeah, the early 97 is a one off and makes it hard to figure out repairs sometimes. Thanks for commenting!

I appreciate your videos. Especially the 2.5L stuff. Lots of them still around, but they dont get the attention the 4.0 gets.

No, the 2.5 are like a black sheep in most people's eyes. I love mine and plan on keeping it. Thanks for watching!

@@randyhornhunter7449 Nice! We are planning to go to the Jeep Invasion again this year at Pigeon Forge. That is close to Knoxville. Are you going?

@@ForceBuilt I should have it put back together by then

I know we have laughed about this in the past, but that previous owner must have treated that Jeep like a lego set and took every single thing apart at some point and forgot how some of it went back together! 😂 At some point (fingers crossed) you will either have everything completely fixed or eventually run into something that wasn't tampered with previously. That will be a monumental video for sure, lol! 😅 I'm glad you got your speedo fixed, great job!
