I used a completely free plugin without changing any settings, and I went from this score - to this score! And this was an Elementor Pro WooCommerce website! I didn't believe it. So I used a Divi website. I went from this score to this score. How is this possible? Help me out in the comments when watching this video. Now this speed up plugin is relatively new and it comes from a company we already know. So if you want to help me out, go to wp.discount/airlift/ This link is also in the description of this video so feel free to use that, I will be forever grateful. Press Enter. Let's test out the new kid on the block with "Ultra fast WordPress Sites with the click of a Button". You know me, I'm always interested in speeding up WordPress websites. I've tested out a bunch of plugins. They were not all that good. So today we're going to take a look at Airlift, install the plugin, set up in 60 seconds, automatically configure it. Now our website is ultra fast. I'm really curious about this, so I'm going to scroll all the way up and I'm going to press 'Get started now'. Here we go. Then we have to create a account, of course. We are going to sign up using email. We press on the yellow button, 'Sign up', and then we need to enter a URL to get started. In this case, we are going to optimize my latest Elementor Pro tutorial - building a gigantic, beautiful web shop, a completely working web shop, and it's really off the chart. So we're going to test this one. But before we going to put it into the system, I always do my testing myself. So I'm going to put elementor.mortgagedivi.com inside of Page Speed Insights, also inside of GTmetrix and also in the Pingdom Speed Analyzer. And then we're going to press on 'Start test'. This ecommerce web shop does run with WooCommerce, Elementor Pro and the Hello theme. It has not been optimized, it doesn't have any caching plug. It is just the score out of the box. So I'm really curious what this does. These are the Pingdom scores. Great. and this is GTMetrix, not bad at all. Then we go to Page Speed Insights and it's also not bad, but of course it can be done way better, as we have some problems with the all the basic stuff you would expect from a website not optimized. Let's get back to dashboard of Airlift. Put in our URL over there and press 'Continue'. Then we need to manual installation, of course. So we're going to download the plugin over there. And then we log into our WordPress dashboard. If you're still logging in using /wp-admin/... that's another very safe way, so please watch my tutorial
about securing your WordPress website and then we can even use these guys to log in. Then we go to 'Plugins' - 'Add New Plugin'. We press 'Upload Plugin', we are going to select the file we've just downloaded from Airlift and we press 'Install now'. And then we're going to press on 'Activate plugin'. now we were instantly brought back to Airlift.net and the website is in here and it's analyzing our site. This is going to take some time. So while it's analyzing, we are going to confirm our email address. Then I have this beautiful email from support@blogvault.net... and I need to click on 'Verify now'. And when I verified it, I come to here to the dashboard. But let's get back to the other tab then the Airlift dashboard tells us they're optimizing our site performance. It

Hey Matt! I just finished building a small and simple website and tried this plugin. Here are the surprising results! Pagespeed Insights: Performance 73 -> 99 (desktop) 93 (mobile) GTmetrix: C -> A with Performance 78% -> 100%, Structure 81% -> 98%, LCP 2.2s -> 503ms Pingdom: C 74 -> A 95 with with load time 4.65s -> 1.6s I wasn't expecting such improvement. Just Wow! i've just tried it and that was the most usful plugin ever! i've got :91 Performance, 93 Accessibility and 96 Best Practices on Desktop 97 Performance, 93 Accessibility and 96 Best Practices on Mobile. Huge diffrence and it's automatic :D Thanks a lot fot sharing this amazing plugin. 😀

Great video! I got the confirmation Airlift will keep the existing features free forever but will have a pro plan in the future for new features. The dashboard is confusing with the $199 plans showing when going to the other blocks like security, uptime, backups. Theysaid they'll fix it, it's an error in the UI. Those other blocks are for WP Remote. Hope this helps clarify some confusion (I know I needed it 😅)

Its interesting how well this plugin works, and also that it seems to be mostly hosted not on our websites, like other plugins. Atleast the dash board anyway. It does seem tonwork rather well though! Just a little concerned security wise, if it leaves a way for those with bad intentions to get in. Then again, what doesn't these days, lol

Thank you for this video introducing Airlift. I am intrigued (and frankly slightly sceptical ) about a free plug in that can have such an amazingly positive effect so quickly and without mucking up things on my website. I feel I should give it a try, but I need your advice first. I have the Nitropack (free) plugin on my website ( from an earlier recommendation) . I have the optimisation set to medium because anything stronger started to adversely affect the operation of my page loading etc. So I am worried that Airlift would be too "powerful". I also assume that it would be a mistake to have both Nitropack and Airlift plugins operational at the same time so that I would have to deactivate or delete Nitropack before trying it. Maybe you could do another video to compare airlift and to answer these concerns. Thanks again for being so helpful in my very amateur journey in building and running my Wordpress website.

Hi Terry! Thanks for your comment and questions. Yeah so it definitely is true that I would not advice you to run both plugins at the same time. However, if you have good results now, don't change the plugin in my opinion. You can also run it on a subdomain, a staging environment to see how that goes 😃

Hmm, it crashed my site and provided the following message: "Something went wrong. Please retry or contact us." I did this on a fresh install with the latest version of Wordpress and Divi. I think they need more time. Also - their only pricing option is $199 a year with no documentation (ie. trial, refunds, etc). This would make it the most expensive plugin out there with minimal info and support. Honestly, seems a bit sketchy and unreliable for now - but I will do a little more testing. Thanks for the vids, nice work.

Tried it and works perfectly on homepage level. We went (on a testdomain with copy of commercial website) from 75 to 98 on desktop and 61 to perfect 100 on mobile. On category level however we got 70 and product level we got only 50. Any advise? Will WP Rocket be better on 2e and 3rd level?

Hi there! Thanks for sharing your experience with this plugin. Hm that's a really interesting question about 2nd and 3rd level. In my experience WP Rocket also optimizes those, but every caching plugin should do that, Airlift also. Well you could try with WP Rocket, see if that makes a difference 😃

if you've already got litespeed cache this seems disable that plugins features. I think you have to choose which is best and run that rather than both

Hi Seshasai! Thanks for the question. Yeah if you want to add a new site to your dashboard you need to first add it in their, and then download the plugin again from your Airlift dashboard and install that one on the new website. Let me know if that works for you!

Airlift unfortunately does not work with Multilanguage pages performance are ok, but äöü for German pages are not supported :( and no answer from the support.

@@WPressDoctor It was too good to be true! On the first attempt, the homepage broke down and the shop pages worked very quickly as long as they were clicked once. However, an error message came from Airlift that something went wrong... When I tried a second time, after that the homepage was broken again and the contact and info pages were also broken. After that I disabled Airlift and noticed that the mega-menu of my theme (Flatsome) was truncated and I couldn't fix it even by clearing the caches. Fortunately, I made a backup before installing Airlift and when I restored it, everything was back to normal... A nice easy plugin if you could get it to work properly. I don't know if that could be because of my theme. However, it is a production site, so I don't want to play with it, the customers will run away. I wish this would develop so much that I would dare to use it. I hope for the best because this was already pretty convincing!👍

Hi There! Yeah that’s pretty normal when analyzing websites, Pingdom does this a lot. It’s not that it doesn’t take the background into account, it’s just not showing it in the preview. I don’t know why this happens, should make no difference in scores though 😀

In case someone has the same problem, I reverted back to litespeed and turned off guest optimization and JS settings and it works. My performance on mobile is better but not great.@@WPressDoctor

@@WPressDoctor it's similar to the one you showed in this video, you have the settings inside wp-admin. The other comment is true, Seraphinite is free but it adds a banner, but I hide it with negative bottom margin in the footer. Just done a test without Seraphinite on pingdom and got D 67 grade, with it activated : A grade 95. I'll try airlift quickly now

@@WPressDoctor I just tested without caching plugin vs Seraphinite vs Airlift and found Seraphinite to be the best for my website. Here are the stats on pingdom : - No caching : Performance grade D 67, 13.27 s load time, Requests 173, Page size 5.9 MB - Seraphinite : Performance grade A 95, Load time 618 ms, Requests 24, Page size 3.3 MB -Airlift : Performance grade C 77, Load time 679 ms, Page size 2.6 MB, Requests 126. I will stick with seraphinite since it's the best with my testing. Yes there is a banner at the bottom of the screen but everyone can remove it by adding some negative margin at the bottom footer of your pages. (around -80px) Or you can pay to support the devs.

I tried and it took me by surprise after activated. Was 51 for mobile and it went up to 76 but today it dropped to 61 (nothing change, purge cache), although still better than before. I am a non-techie person so wondering how this works? Fluctuate daily or it is only a one time booster?

Hi there! Thanks for the question. Well it should work stable. So you optimize your website and then the score is what it is. It should not change drastically in time. However, small changes between scores can occur because of server speed or test server speed, those things can differ kf course. What theme are you using and what hosting are you on?

Before: - Desktop: 99 - Mobile: 77 After: - Desktop: 100 - Mobile: 93 But! My page has a background video (full height). Which now only plays after first interaction, which isn’t great, particularly on Mobile. I’m trying to disable this to try again but it’s doing something that apparently I need to wait to finish. I’ll let you know 😄

This plugin crashed my website and their support was worthless and unresponsive. I simply logged into the server and deleted the plugin.

Crashed mine site too. Couldn't get score on page speed insight. Score was 90, but after reinstalling my score is 50 and can't improve. Opened ticket and nothing yet from support

What's the catch with these free plugins? Of course everyone sells your data, but there's got to be more to it than that.

Hi Joseph! Thanks for your question. I talk about that in the end of the video. I however don't know for sure how long this will stay free and or this is a 'Free forever' introduction to the company or that in a year they will charge you... time will tell 🤷🏼‍♂️

Thank you Matt! But I will pass. You yourself were confused at 5:52. Relying entirely on a new third-party platform for website speed puts us at huge risk as it can go down any moment. I prefer plugins that operate directly within my website, where I maintain full control Plus, nothing is free in this world. Wait until his plugin gains traction before hitting you with "Upgrade Bro or everything will stop"
