Loupedeck sent me the Loupedeck Live for review. I have been using the Turbo for a few years. Should I replace my Tourbox?

I bought tourbox a year ago and used it almost everyday for 1 year edited about 150+ shoots. Biggest reason why I like tourbox is wireless, can be used with one hand, I was able to assign presets, switch between photoshop and Lightroom. I use it for culling, editing and PS retouching. Tourbox elite have haptic feedback, clicky feeling. 10/10 if anyone is looking to try.

The problem I have with these devices (especially those with screens like this Loupedeck) is that you're constantly having to look away from your monitor to look at that screen to select something, which actually slows down productivity. I could also see me accidentally touching the screen on the LD when using the knobs. And, small point - but what really is the difference between hitting B for blade on your keypad and hitting the same thing on the LD screen? It's the same action, just on a different device, and arguably quicker on a keyboard.

I think in the long run, tourbox is much better. I think as you memorize the buttons which are unique in shapes unlike the loupedeck live, it becomes easy to use it without looking whihc makes the whole process faster. I ordered mine few days ago, I hope I am not wrong about this.

This is exactly correct. The whole purpose of the Tour Box is to allow for "sightless operation". It relies on a short ramp up in muscle memory, but once you have that, it will be much faster than the Loupedeck. The latter has its own advantages, but they really are different animals. Also worth noting that the newer Tour Box Elite has some advantages over the prior NEO which is what is seen in this video. For example, it now has haptic feedback, operates wirelessly with Bluetooth, and can be assigned commands (not just keystrokes) and Macros.

I bought a TourBox last year, and it's a really confusing device. It ends up making me lose more time than I gain. I'm now considering getting a Stream Deck or Loupedeck. Thanks for your video. I am a Ae user

Yeah. Tourbox is so confusing. I ended up just using a few buttons that I memorized. Loupedeck live can be confusing at first but the visuals help.

@@TheManToys - I have both. I have to say it depends on working style. If you are someone that memorizes keyboard shortcuts or where a button is located, I find the Tourbox is best. If you are more visual and hit icon A/B/C then Loupdeck is for you. For me, I like that I can use the tourbox without having to take my eyes off the screen. But this does require memory of where buttons are located and what button does what. Everything on the loupdeck feels the same, so it requires you take your eyes off the screen. You can have both in ones workflow as there are certain functions you can assign to loupdeck to do that a button to visually click is nicer.

It took me about one whole week to learn tourbox, but I have been using it ever since, can't edit without it now. you can reach out to them and see if they can help you using their devices.
