Having had issues with the running of my OS fs 26 four-stroke glow engine fitted to the Speedy Bee, I have decided to replace it with a slightly larger engine, a OS fs 30, again a four-stroke glow engine - be interesting to see what difference this makes. The Speedy Bee is a classic design from Clancy Aviation, a fun 40" wingspan mid-winged radio control plane. The plane in the video was part of a build series, which can be found in my playlists, which take you step by step through the construction of the model, culminating in the maiden flight, and a build & flight review.
The plane was built from a great set of plans, from 1996, which can be downloaded from Outerzone: - outerzone.co.u...

@@MarkRobinson555 I have 2 of those engines so just trying to get a heads up if I come across same issues. You next plane build after this new one you started should be should be the WOTS free plans at Outerzone. Hint.. Hint.. many thanks. I always referred your videos when people ask about scratch building at the flying field.

I'm building a Speedy B. following your helpful videos and I think I'll use a Saito FA 30. I'll let you know how things go. Congratulations and thank you for the contributions you provide

Good video and flight scenes, as with most combustion engine problems the carburetor seems to be the culprit.

Fouled carburetor or air leak somewhere? I have a similar engine, it ran fine - then it didn't. Found that the glow plug wasn't very tight at all. Tightened it up, and bam! It runs great again!

She just thumps right along, doesn't she? Question, do those engines use air bleed or two-needle carbs? Just curious.
@MarkRobinson555

Yes they do, great engines. They are both airbleed

You hooked up a drain tube to the crankcase breather nipple right? Try removing that. The 26 is a great running engine. Shouldn’t give you any trouble

I have tried with and with out, but no change, think its a fuel issue, but appreciate the suggestion

That thing looks good in the air and on the ground Mark… I think it needs a nose spinner cone though…😊👍

Good going Mark. I have got a FS30. Very reliable😀👍🛩️. Where can i find a plan for a test stand. Something tha can cater for a few diff sizes of engine?
@MarkRobinson555

Thanks very much appreciate the comment. If you look on ebay there are the metal clamps that are used for test stands, just need to bolt it to a nice solid board and then somthing to hold the tank, if you look back at some of my engin rub videos that may help

@@MarkRobinson555 Hi Mark. The tank must always be below the carb?

Below or at the same height, just want to avoid having it higher as the fuel will syphon onto the engine
