To be fair, it's not impossible, but at the same time it's not highly likely. England managed to keep a 0-0 draw between the two earlier this year, and I think they're both bringing the squads they used in that game, I don't think Brazil will perform as well as they can, as the temperatures in Russia are all over the place, it's either boiling hot, or freezing cold, no in between. England could play well, with mild temperatures. But, Brazil have a squad with WC experience, and England have a squad where the majority are participating in their first WC.

I find it interesting that so many people underestimate Portugal's talent. Yes, their defence is probably their weaker element, however, even with the older players, you still have the likes of Guerreiro, Cedric, Dias, and Pepe who are consistent. Their midfield is quite good- they got rid of some players from the Euro 2016 squad, and replaced them with some fresh legs, like Fernandes, who again, has shown consistency. And of course, they have Ronaldo-however, I don't think he will be the standout striker; to me, it will be either Guedes or Silva. Overall, this year's World Cup squad is much better than their 2016 squad. Anything can happen, and this is just my input! Good luck to all!

rexrex696 u are forgetting Portugal's biggest defensive prospect at the World Cup...Ruben Dias, i feel he will play against Iran and Morocco due to his speed and strength...And as always Spencer forgets that with Fernando Santos as coach Portugal have ONLY 1 loss in official games...I saw Portugal's prep games and they played very well against Belgium (0-0 draw without CR7) and the performance against Algeria was awesome, I dont remember watching Portugal play such a good offensive game...Mainly due to Bernardo Silva, Bruno Fernandes and Gonçalo Guedes...3 young but world class players

It amazes me how after all these years so many people (including so called "experts") always go for the team best on paper, as if it's gonna be a walk in the park. This is the world cup, every player gives it everything they have and many big nations often struggle against "weaker" teams. There are always surprise teams. Always.
